Dave Chappelle Stuns Audience at 50 Cent’s G-Unity Foundation Charity Event

Dave Chappelle’s unannounced visit at 50 Cent’s charity event stunned the audience.

On Thursday, August 8, the fifty-year-old comic made an appearance on stage at the Humor and Harmony Weekend, a four-day event held in Shreveport, Louisiana. Curtis Jackson, also known as 50 Cent, planned the event with the goal of raising funds for marginalized juvenile groups.

The audience cheered for the stand-up legend’s unexpected appearance as he climbed the stage to address those who had attended the comedy and music event.

“Dude, I took a plane all the way to Shreveport because I didn’t want to miss the moment when history is made. In video released to Us Weekly, he addressed the assembly, “And this is history.”

“This motherf–ker, Curtis Jackson, has brought everything to Shreveport and has lived the American dream and the American nightmare in one life.”

The G-Unity Foundation and 50 Cent’s brand Sire Spirits collaborated to organize the event, which began on Thursday, August 8 and will run until Sunday, August 11.

Andrew Schulz, Bill Bellamy, Katt Williams, and musicians Da Baby, 2 Chainz, Cam’ron, Flo-Rida, Monica, and 50 Cent himself are among the performers scheduled for the event.

The “Get Rich Or Die Trying” rapper has always made use of his platform to give back. In 2005, he established The G-Unity Foundation with the goal of assisting nonprofits that enhance the standard of living in low-income areas of the country.

In a 2023 Forbes interview, 50 Cent discussed his love of philanthropy and expressed his pride at moving beyond only acting and music to include additional philanthropic endeavors.

Since 2004, I have given money to charities, but I have never volunteered. Regarding his work with G-Unity, he stated, “I can now coordinate.”

The Power actor acknowledged in the interview that his increased notoriety has given him more clout.

“Think of it as a cheat sheet.” Even though I probably wouldn’t be as involved in philanthropy, having the relationships helps,” he remarked. “You see me around it more because I can get into something I know works already by connecting through what they’ve developed on the ground.”

In the meantime, Chappelle has previously used his fame to lend a hand. For example, he declared during a stand-up performance in June 2022 at Buffalo, New York’s Shea’s Performing Arts Center that he would donate the proceeds from the event to the families of the local Tops Supermarket mass shooting victims.

A few of the victims’ relatives were also invited to the concert by Chappelle. A month earlier, a mass shooting in the Buffalo region left ten people dead and three injured.
