Kelly Dodd Contacted Vicki Gunvalson After Her Health Scare, Wishing Her a Speedy Recovery

Kelly Dodd supports Vicki Gunvalson.

Dodd, 48, wished Gunvalson, 62, her former costar on Real Housewives of Orange County, a swift recovery after she revealed that Gunvalson had been admitted to the hospital recently with a “10 to 20 percent [chance of] survival.”

“I was informed that @vickigunvalson was close to death when [her lover] Mike Smith contacted to let me know. Acknowledged @michaelsmith0522 and instructed me to be silent!” On Monday, August 26, Dodd wrote a caption for a picture of her and Gunvalson on Instagram.

Thus, I remained silent to everyone! I can maintain secrecy, see! My friend @vickigunvalson is doing well, according to our conversation! I hope you heal quickly and know how much I love you, Vicki.

In the post’s comments section, Dodd’s followers were quick to voice their worries and send their well wishes to the creator of Coto Insurance.

One Instagram user commented, “So scary, glad she’s okay,” while another posted, “OMG this can’t be real.” I hope she’s doing well. She is joyful and loving, and I have met her. Vicki, please get better.

On the August 26 episode of her podcast “My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast,” Gunvalson discussed her recent health concern. She shared her tale with lover Michael Smith.

She began, “There’s a lot of hours missing in my life because I got, like, amnesia,” and then she remembered that earlier this month she had gone to the hair salon “as usual.” Gunvalson continued, telling listeners that “there seems to be about an hour or two that I was missing and I don’t know where I was.”

She added that when she returned to the office, a client, a retired emergency room doctor, noticed that something wasn’t quite right because she was “talking gibberish” and “wrote an email out” that “didn’t make sense.”

“We didn’t know, but he got up and told [Michael’s daughter] Olivia that I might be having a stroke,” Gunvalson said. “It’s all gone from my memory, and Olivia brought me to the hospital.”

Before being released that same evening, the Bravo star claimed that she had received a false diagnosis of a sinus infection. A few weeks before, Smith mentioned that Gunvalson had a sinus illness that felt “different,” “lasted longer” than usual, and negatively impacted her general health.

Smith was out of the state when Gunvalson had his medical incident. Gunvalson was taking a bath when he was called home by his daughter, who said he was “pretty much passed out.” He sent her to bed and informed him that she needed to sleep, according to a doctor who had misdiagnosed her prior sinus infection.

Smith drove her to the hospital after she woke up confused after sleeping for “13, 14 hours straight,” thinking she was having a stroke.

Smith said, “She had a massive infection.” “It was pneumonia, but it was actually sepsis.” And what happened, and I’m not a doctor, but from what they said, is that your body attacks the infection because it was so large and dangerous, which has an impact on your brain and every other part of your body because your body sends all of its resources to fight it.

Gunvalson is finally on the mend, despite her lengthy recuperation, and Smith reassured her supporters that she is “doing better” because of her friends and family.

“She’ll be alright,” he predicted. “She is emerging from it.”
