At one particularly famous soccer match, three of the greatest players in football history were snapped together.
On Saturday, August 24, Tom Brady, David Beckham, and Lionel Messi were present at the Inter Miami vs. Cincinnati game. The result was a 2-0 victory for Inter Miami, which qualified them for the Major League Soccer (MLS) playoffs.
Beckham, 49, is the president and co-owner of Inter Miami. Brady, 47, and Messi, 37, are seen posing next to Beckham in an Instagram snap that he uploaded on Sunday, August 25. Messi, who is a member of the team, sustained an ankle injury during the game.
Beckham captioned the photo: “The GREATEST just keeps getting better @leomessi @tombrady Watch us head to the playoffs @intermiamicf 🇦🇷 & 🇺🇸 xx”.
Prior to kickoff, Brady also took the field to receive a pink Inter Miami jersey from Beckham, the seven-time Super Bowl champion. During the event, the team’s official X account posted pictures with the description, “Pink always suits a.” The legendary athletes exchanged hugs.
Brady used social media on Sunday to offer his own analysis of the incident. He shared Beckham’s Instagram post in an Instagram Story. Brady wrote, “I’m bringing @leomessi back to Birmingham with me,” as a caption for the picture. Apologies, @davidbeckham.
Brady and Beckham have been friends for a long time; in fact, Beckham even kept in touch with Brady following the May 5 Netflix premiere of The Roast of Tom Brady.
On the May 8 broadcast of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Beckham told Jimmy Kimmel that he was concerned about his pal because of the well publicized remarks in the show. The soccer player admitted, “I know Tom well and I did fire him a message just to check he was OK.” “I asked, ‘Are you okay?'”
Although Beckham expressed his sympathy for Brady, he also made fun of the legendary player after Brady announced his retirement from the NFL in 2023.
In May 2023, Beckham posted a remark on an Instagram picture of Brady and businessman David Grutman relaxing on a boat in Italy, saying, “Tom looks a little bored to be honest.”
Beckham and Brady had given their kids a double daddy-daughter outing less than six months before. Brady wrote, “Daddy Daughter Dates,” as the caption for an Instagram Story picture from January 2023 that featured his 11-year-old daughter Vivian with Beckham and his 13-year-old daughter Harper.
Harper is the child of David and Victoria Beckham, along with their boys Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, and Cruz, 19.
As the group of four grabbed dinner together, the fathers could be seen in the picture cuddling up to their daughters.
