In a humorous revelation, Kelly Ripa said she has a particular bond with dolphins.
On Tuesday, August 27, the 53-year-old TV anchor revealed on Live with Kelly and Mark that she experienced a spiritual connection to the magnificent beasts while celebrating a friend’s 50th birthday on a boat off the coast of Mexico.
The group unexpectedly discovered themselves encircled by wild dolphins while enjoying “sunset cocktails” on the boat they had chartered.
Ripa, whose husband, Mark Consuelos, cohosts the program, then went into detail about how the information came to light, according to Entertainment Weekly. “After doing the show in Miami, we visited the Seaquarium, where I got to swim with the dolphins.”
We were practicing a taped exercise in which we spoke with dolphins. As a result, Kelly Ripa jumps into the ocean and declares, “I can communicate with dolphins!” “I’m going to call them over,” she exclaimed.
Consuelos, 53, laughed as Ripa continued to explain that even though someone in the group had advised her to exercise caution, she didn’t feel in danger when swimming in the middle of the ocean.
“Kel, get back in the boat,” our friend Brian was yelling from the bow of the vessel. “Those are not trained dolphins; those are wild dolphins,” Ripa remarked. “However, because I had spoken to the dolphins so fluently, I imagined that I could converse with them.”
The couple, who were married in 1996, has previously talked about their experiences with wildlife on the show. They have two boys, Michael, 27, and Joaquin, 21, as well as a daughter, Lola, 23.
Consuelos disclosed in May the specifics of a beach event on Long Island, New York, where a family was attacked by a group of wild plover birds.

In the July 25 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Ripa, who is well-known for her extreme oversharing, disclosed that she “did something backstage that was so inappropriate that, if we weren’t married, I would probably be fired right now.”
