As Lucky, played by Jonathan Jackson, makes his comeback, Port Charles has a new look that could cause some disruptions.
According to Deadline, Sawandi Wilson is set to join the cast of General Hospital as Isaiah. Although Isaiah’s identity is still unknown, he will be acquainted with Lucky, who Jackson debuted as in 1993.
Wilson posted an Instagram photo with the remark, “NEW CHARACTER UNLOCKED,” confirming the report. I’m really happy and appreciative to be a part of this! Wha Gwan Port Charles.”
While the duration of Isaiah’s tenure on America’s longest-running soap opera is unknown, his premiere episode is scheduled for Monday, August 26.
Wilson started out as a breakdancer before deciding to pursue acting. Not surprisingly, he landed his first acting part in Step Up 3D (2010) as a dancer.
His most well-known performance was as Captain Leto in the last season of Star Trek: Discovery. He also had parts in the Netflix series The House of Flowers and the Prime Video series Harlem as Marcus.
Wilson works as a director and producer as well. For all six episodes of the comedy series Date.Love.Repeat., in which he starred, he received executive producer honors.
While Jackson’s last appearance as Lucky on General Hospital was in 2015, he returned to the role on August 23, which was his 386th episode on the show.
Jackson gave fans a preview of what to anticipate from his allegedly “substantial, real” comeback in an August 22 interview with TV Insider.
Jackson stated, “I would say that the reasons for his being away and what he’s been up to are revealed. [Lucky has] been away for almost a decade.” He hasn’t merely been working on his book while lounging in an apartment. He’s been doing some things.
Jackson also revealed a sneak peek at Lucky’s transformation when he was off screen.
He said, “I think he’s more like Luke [Spencer] than he’s ever been in some ways.” That sums up how I feel in a small way. When I returned in 2010, he was working as a police officer and was attempting to forge an identity separate from his father.
We’re just getting started, so I’m not sure where he is exactly right now, but it seems like over time, he’s become somewhat more like his father.
