Fans of Love Island USA are at last learning the truth about what really happened between Nicole Jacky and Kendall Washington after they moved out of the Villa—sort of.
As host Ariana Madix checked up with Nicole and Kendall during the reunion, which began airing on Peacock Monday, August 19, you could sense the tension between them.
“Just trying to communicate—it’s been a bit tough on the outside,” Kendall started.
“Talk to each other? You’ve been unable to communicate,” Nicole retaliated. “You have never been,”
Nicole interrupted Kendall once more when he said that the couple was attempting to “give each other space.” “After you told me falsehoods?” she questioned.
As Kendall alluded to the explicit footage of him in a hotel room that surfaced on the day the season finale aired, things became tearful.
“I just have a quick thing to say. It’s clear that the video is improper. No one is worthy of that. It’s fucked up, as everyone in this room can agree, Nicole stated. But I believe that in the time, when you’re telling me about something, you should be honest if you claim you love someone.
It’s absurd because you told someone you trusted — your ex-girlfriend — that it happened years ago, yet JaNa [Craig] told me two days later that it happened in the hotel room before you went on the show.
“I just want to address the content that came out from my past,” Kendall wrote in response to the footage on Instagram Stories last month. I confided in and trusted someone with that information. Although it’s regrettable that it’s no longer private, things are as they are.
As people conjectured about the video, Nicole later charged Kendall with failing to check on her or publicly protect her reputation. Nicole became even more defensive when the others tried to defend Kendall.
Nicole remarked, “This just puts me in such a f–ked position because people are questioning that I love and care about you too.” “We’re still together, even though you gave the impression that we’re not.”
Following their fourth-place finish and their “I love yous” exchanged in the July airing of the season 6 finale, Nicole and Kendall announced to Us Weekly and other publications that they intended to go on a long-distance relationship.
I have a large family in California, including my mom and sister, so it’s fortunate that she resides there. I get to visit Nicole and my family when I travel there, so it’s a win-win situation,” Dallas resident Kendall told Us.
“My mom is thrilled that Nicole is from California because I know that eventually my family wants me to move back there.”
Nicole then stopped posting on social media. On August 1, she made a mysterious statement regarding her disappearance. “Though Love Island was an incredible journey, life has not been simple since vacating the villa,” she added.
“I’ve been taking time to process; these are real feelings and my real life. There’s a lot more to share about what has happened since coming home.”
There are other people that are curious in Nicole and Kendall’s position besides fans. That was the first thing Kenny Rodriguez wanted addressed when he got back together with his co-stars, he told Us during an interview earlier this month.
“They haven’t really talked about it on social media or online. Thus, I was really interested in finding out where they are and whether there is animosity between them going into that reunion, Kenny remarked.
