The Covenant Trailer
The Covenant: The Plot
The Promise, with the slogan “A relationship. Statement of intent “depicts the adventures of Sergeant John Kinley (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Translator Ahmed (Mahershala Ali) (Dar Salim). For their operation in Afghanistan, Kinley hires Ahmed to act as an interpreter and guide among the locals. The Taliban ambush Kinley and his battalion in the desert, catching the soldiers off guard; they knock Kinley down in an attempt to kidnap him.
But, Ahmed intervenes and kills the remaining Taliban, saving Kinley by leading him safely over the desert highlands. Ahmed, it turns out, wasn’t motivated by financial gain when he joined the team; he only wanted to get even with the Taliban for killing his kid. John Kinley, now grateful for his second opportunity at life, has moved back to his own country.
Eventually he finds out that Ahmed is hiding out in Afghanistan after evading the Taliban. As the authorities ignore his desperate pleas, he travels to Afghanistan to save the life of his comrade, who had previously endangered his own for an unknown person. When he gets there, will Ahmed still be alive? Or will the Taliban kill him like they did his father?
Who are the Makers of The Covenant?
Many people are planning to see the film before it even premieres because Guy Ritchie directed and wrote it. Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson are also responsible for the script. The films The Gentleman and Aladdin were collaborations between Ritchie and Atkinson and between Ritchie and Davies for the films Sherlock Holmes and The Gentlemen.
It’s likely that Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant will add to the success of these three actors’ previous collaborations, as they’ve created several critically acclaimed films together. Acclaimed cinematographer Ed Wild (Rocketman) contributed to the film as well. Based on the trailer, the team, the actors, and the plot, The Covenant, directed by Guy Ritchie, appears to be one of the most anticipated action films of 2023.
