Season 2 of Gossip Girl has returned, and we have the scoop on everything that’s been happening among Manhattan’s upper crust in that time, from betrayals to power struggles.
Executive producer and showrunner Josh Safran has been anticipating season 2 since it was announced. It was up to him and the other writers in the room to set the stage for the rest of the series in the first season by introducing new characters and giving the original’s world a new setting. The vibe of the first season has to be unique. Safran clearly recalls the audience’s reaction when he promised there would be “no catfights,” but now that season 2 has begun, anything goes.

The Students
Whitney Peak as Zoya Lott
Zoya Lott, played by Whitney Peak, is a first-year scholarship student and half-sister of Julien at Constance Billard. Julien found her long-lost sister, Zoya, on social media and eventually convinced her to join her in New York City and attend the same high school. Zoya, hoping to spend more time with her sister, goes along with Julien’s plan and moves to the Upper West Side to be closer to Nick Lott, their father. There are some people in Constance who aren’t thrilled about Zoya’s arrival because of her “I couldn’t care less” demeanour, especially among Julien’s crew. Unwillingly, Zoya’s life in Manhattan is becoming more and more complicated as her relationship with Julien becomes increasingly unstable.
Eli Brown as Otto “Obie” Bergmann IV
Otto “Obie” Bergmann IV, played by Eli Brown, is the wealthiest student at Constance University. Obie is the prized offspring of a real estate tycoon, but he has no interest in following in her footsteps. Emily Alyn Lind as Audrey Hope
Emily Alyn Lind takes on the role of Audrey Hope, the daughter of Katherine Hope, the designer of a high-end athletics wear line who is struggling to accept her recent divorce. She has her best friend Julien and her high school boyfriend Aki to lean on despite her difficult home life. Things become more complicated, however, when Audrey develops feelings for more than one person.
Evan Mock as Akeno “Aki” Menzies
Akeno “Aki” Menzies, portrayed by Evan Mock, is a film buff who is never seen without his trusty skateboard. Adam Chanler-Berat as Jordan Glassberg
Kate’s computer science professor, Jordan Glassberg, played by Adam Chanler-Berat, helps her with her Gossip Girl profile. The fact that Jordan is willing to put his career on the line to be a part of the Gossip Girl venture is evidence that he, like Kate, is terrified of his students. Jordan and Kate occasionally but heads over their schemes, suggesting that they aren’t always on the same page.
The Adults
Johnathan Fernandez as Nick Lott
Nick Lott, Zoya’s doting father and a lawyer, is portrayed by Jonathan Fernandez. Marion, Nick’s ex-girlfriend and the mother of his children Zoya and Julien, was once his true love. Since Marion’s death, Nick has stepped up his duties as a single parent and is extremely involved in his daughter’s life. Nick was concerned about Zoya’s new way of life after she moved to the city and was transferred to Constance. Because of his animosity toward Julien’s father, he is initially hesitant to allow Zoya to get in touch with her half-sister. They may have their ups and downs, but Nick and Zoya truly care for one another.
