Creed 3 Release date, New Cast And Official Trailer

With the release of Creed in 2015, the long-dormant Rocky franchise was revitalised. Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) transferring the torch to a newer, younger boxing champion was initially met with scepticism by fans of the 1977 Best Picture winner and its several sequels. Ultimately, these concerns were unjustified, as Creed not only lives up to the tradition of the franchise, but perhaps exceeds it. Michael B. Jordan plays Adonis Creed, the new hero of the franchise and the son of Apollo Creed, Rocky Balboa’s longtime competitor and close friend (Carl Weathers).

About Creed III

Creed III is an upcoming American sports drama movie that will be Michael B. Jordan’s first time directing a full-length movie. Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin wrote the screenplay, which was based on a story they wrote with Ryan Coogler. The movie is the sequel to 2018’s Creed II and the ninth in the Rocky series.

Jordan, Tessa Thompson, Jonathan Majors, Wood Harris, Florian Munteanu, and Phylicia Rashad all star in it. This is the first movie in the series where Sylvester Stallone is not playing Rocky Balboa. However, he is still involved as a producer through his Balboa Productions banner.

Cast of Creed III
For Creed III, most of the main characters from the first two movies are back, including Michael B. Jordan as Donnie. Jordan has shown over the years that he is one of the best young actors in Hollywood. His roles in Fruitvale Station, Black Panther, the TV show Friday Night Lights, and of course, Creed, have all been praised. He now has full control of this franchise, since Rocky, played by Sylvester Stallone, is not expected to show up (though never discount a potential cameo).

Also coming back for Creed III are Tessa Thompson (Thor: Love and Thunder, Westworld), who plays Donnie’s wife and talented musician Bianca, Phylicia Rashad (The Cosby Show, Empire), who plays Donnie’s adopted mother Mary Anne Creed, and Wood Harris (Winning Time, Empire), who plays Donnie’s trainer Tony “Little Duke” Burton.

Florian Munteanu, who played Viktor Drago in “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” is also coming back. IMDb says that “Pretty” Ricky Conlon (Tony Bellew), the main bad guy in Creed, will also be in the movie. Canelo Alvarez, a real-life boxer, is making his acting debut in the movie, but he won’t be playing himself.

Even though it will be great to see all of these familiar faces from the Creed series again, Jonathan Majors’s new role as Damian Anderson is by far the most exciting. In the last couple of years, Majors’ career has been going through the roof. It all started with the indie film The Last Black Man in San Francisco and went on to include an Emmy-nominated role in Lovecraft Country, leading roles in Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods and the Netflix western The Harder They Fall, and now he’s been chosen to play the next big bad in the MCU, Kang the Conqueror, who has already made an appearance in the Loki finale and will Between now and then, Majors still has Devotion to come out in 2022.

Plot of Creed III

When we last saw Adonis, he had just beaten Viktor Drago in a fight. This ended a long-running rivalry between the two men, which began when Viktor’s father, Ivan Drago, killed Adonis’s father, Apollo Creed, in Rocky IV (1985). Almost every character has a happy ending of sorts. Adonis makes peace with his family’s history, Rocky is able to get back in touch with his estranged family, and even Ivan and Viktor decide to put aside their petty rivalry and focus on building a good father-son relationship.

The next movie in the series will probably be about how Adonis keeps getting better at being a father to his daughter and doesn’t do what other parents in the series did and lose touch with their own children.
