After he signed with Jive Records in 1995, he put out “Mind of Mystikal,” which was mostly made up of tracks from his first album. In 2005, while he was still in jail on state charges of sexual violence and extortion, Mystikal was charged with two misdemeanor counts of not filing tax returns for the years 1998 and 1999.

In federal court the next year, he was found guilty of the tax charges, but he was allowed to serve his one-year federal sentence along with his six-year state sentence. When he got out of prison in 2010, he was marked as a sex offender.

In 2012, Mystikal was arrested again after he got into a fight with his partner. After being locked up for nine days, he was let out on bail. He was sent to prison for three months again because he broke the rules of his probation.
