Yellowstone is such a popular show that the Paramount Network boasts about the number of people who watched the Season 5 trailer on YouTube (14.4 million in 24 hours, for the record). While the new teaser shows us juicy details about the upcoming season, including the fact that John Dutton has the new title of Governor attached to his name, it doesn’t make the wait any easier. But it’ll be here soon, along with all the drama that the Duttons can handle.
Here is everything we know about Yellowstone Season 5 so far, including the release date, cast information, and trailers.
Yellowstone Season 5 Latest Update
The fifth season will feature yet another new character, this time a young girl who will play a role in Carter’s expanding storyline. According to EW, Orli Gottesman will play Halie, a young, self-assured woman who is attracted to Carter. “In Season 5, Halie becomes the person who allows Carter to come out of his shell and teaches him not only about himself, but he also finds himself always wanting Halie around,” her character description states. “With the arrival of Halié, he now has someone who can fill that role and provide support.”
Yellowstone Season 5 Release Date
Yellowstone will premiere its fifth season on Paramount Network on Sunday, November 13 with a two-hour event, with subsequent episodes airing weekly. The fifth season will consist of 14 episodes, split into two groups of seven episodes. It is currently unclear how long the mid-season break will last, despite the fact that this is the biggest season to date.
In recent interviews, executive producer David C. Glasser provided a brief preview of the upcoming season. “Episode 1 will immediately surprise everyone with how and where our story begins,” Glasser told TV Insider.

Yellowstone Season 5 Cast
In Season 5, there will be both old and new faces at the ranch. Josh Lucas will come back as young John Dutton for the first time since Season 3. It looks like there will be a lot of flashbacks since Kylie Rogers will play young Beth and Kyle Red Silverstein will play young Rip. Jacki Weaver is back as Market Equities CEO Caroline Warner, the Duttons’ latest business rival. Mo Brings Plenty and Wendy Moniz have been promoted to series regulars as Gil Birmingham’s right-hand man Thomas Rainwater’s right-hand man Mo and former governor Lynelle Perry, respectively.
There are also going to be four new people in Yellowstone. Kai Caster will be Rowdy, a young cowboy. Lainey Wilson is playing the role of Abby, a musician. Clara Brewer, a new worker for one of the Duttons, will be played by Lilli Kai (we feel bad for her already). And Dawn Olivieri, who was in the TV show 1883, joins the cast as Sarah Atwood, a “corporate shark” who just moved to Montana.

Yellowstone Season 5 Trailer
The full-length Yellowstone Season 5 trailer confirms that John Dutton wins the race for governor, so the Dutton family is moving to Helena. But it’s clear that it won’t be easy, since John doesn’t “have any friends in the building,” and it looks like he’s going to go to war with Caroline Warner, played by Jacki Weaver.
It looks like Jamie is back home and working as his father’s political adviser, but it doesn’t look like everything is fine between them. While this is going on, Beth is taking over as chief of staff, and if that means getting dirty with the family’s many enemies, so be it.
Based on how people reacted to the new trailer, Season 5 is going to be a huge hit. According to Deadline, more than 14 million people watched the trailer in the first 24 hours after it came out. This is three times as many people as watched the Season 4 trailer in the same amount of time. Giddyup!
