What is the release date for The Rings of Power season 2? The Rings of Power, a fantasy series on Amazon Prime based on the works of JRR Tolkien, has given fans much to discuss and anticipate. With magic, battles, and a major Lord of the Rings character reveal involving Sauron, it is safe to say that even though season 1 has just concluded, we cannot wait for more.
Fortunately, Amazon has officially renewed The Rings of Power for a second season, and production has already begun on the next chapter of the epic saga. This means that more dwarves, elves, and wizards will return to our television screens in the near future! However, despite the fact that we are aware that the television series will return, many details regarding its production remain unknown.
In light of this, The Digital Fix has donned a Tolkien hat and is prepared to answer all of your questions regarding the popular show. Here is everything we know about Amazon’s next foray into Middle-earth, including The Rings of Power season 2 release date, cast, and plot.
The Rings of Power Season 2 Release Date
The second season of Rings of Power is coming. But we don’t know exactly when it will be available on our small screens.
Even though filming for season 2 started in October 2022, it will probably be a while before we get to go back to Middle-earth. It took 18 months to make Season 1 of The Rings of Power. Covid-19 may have made the process longer, but the TV show is moving from New Zealand to England and will need time to build sets and do CGI work, so we’re willing to bet that it will also take a long time.
Jennifer Salke, the head of Amazon Studios, told Variety that she understands why people want more, but that the team won’t rush season 2 for the sake of quality.
“The team is working on Season 2 right now. We’re going to tell everyone as soon as we can,” she said. “We want the time between seasons to be as short as possible, but we also want to keep the bar high. So whatever it takes will be done. But there was a sense of urgency to move quickly, so these guys kept writing during their break. We’re going quickly.”

Taking this into account, it seems likely that The Rings of Power season 2 will come out in 2024. But this is just what we think might happen. We’ll let you know as soon as we find out more.
The Rings of Power Season 2 Plot
The events of The Rings of Power episode 8 have left us with a number of cliffhangers that will no doubt be addressed in the plot of The Rings of Power season 2.
The first thing that is likely to happen in season 2 is that Sauron and Adar’s orcs will fight when he goes back to Mordor. In season one, it was revealed that Halbrand was really Sauron, and the last time we saw the dark lord in disguise, he was walking through the Southlands, where Adar lives, where it is very hot. We’ve seen these two fight before, so we know they have a dark history that we can’t wait to find out more about.
Galadriel must be very angry about Halbrand’s betrayal, and the hunt for Sauron is probably going to pick up speed. They were kind of dating, and nothing is scarier than a badass elf who is mad at you. But Galadriel may be changing her mind about who she wants to date.
In season 1, it seemed like she thought her husband Celeborn was dead, but since he’s in the Lord of the Rings movies and they’re supposed to have a child (who will be Elrond’s wife and Arwen’s mother), we know he’s still alive and will probably show up to his wife again. Do I sense the start of a love triangle? All of this is very hot, isn’t it?
The Rings of Power are another major plot point. Three Rings of Power have been created, implying that either the Seven Dwarf Rings or the Nine Rings of Men will be created in the second season. Elrond and Durin will almost certainly collaborate on this front, as the half-elf will most likely tell his bestie about the creation of the three Elf rings. We can also expect Durin to clash with his father again, as more Mithril will be required.
