Reacher, a detective drama based on Lee Child’s books that debuted on Amazon Prime Video in early 2022, is still one of the most watched shows on the platform more than six months later. It’s not hard to see why; who doesn’t like seeing a handsome, well-dressed man travel the country and solve murders in his own unique way? And it’s easy to see Alan Ritchson bringing the well-known character Jack Reacher to life and making him the right size to make the show a long-running success on Prime Video.
Reacher Season 2 Plot
Alan Ritchson announced on Twitter that the new season will be based on Lee Child’s 11th book in the Jack Reacher series, Bad Luck and Trouble.
“You do not mess with Jack Reacher,” says the book’s summary. He is about as hard to find as someone can get. A person who prefers to be alone and doesn’t mind being anonymous. So when someone from his old Army unit figures out how to get in touch with him, he knows it must be important.
“The Special Investigators are not to be messed with. In the past, the best team always looked out for each other. Now, one of them has been found dead in the desert of California, and six of them are still missing. Reacher can’t forget that his old friends are in big trouble.
The child had talked about which of the Reacher books could be turned into the next episode of the show.
“I haven’t read any of them. I wrote them down. I’ve never read them again. I know them because of what other people say about them,” the Child said.
“And some of them are very well-known. And I think the best thing about the first season was how Reacher’s relationships with other people helped him feel less lonely. I’d like to see more of that. And in that way, there are two or three books that really stand out. So perhaps one of those.”
Reacher Season 2 Release Date
A few days after the premiere of Reacher’s first season on Amazon on February 7, 2022, a second season was ordered. Amazon has yet to disclose the premiere date for Season 2. In addition, the second season of the streaming series will likely premiere in the first half of 2023, based on the previous season’s return pattern. The production of Season 2 will begin this fall.

Reacher Season 2 Cast
Alan Ritchson will be back to play Reacher again. Even though it’s unlikely that we’ll see Oscar Finlay (Malcolm Goodwin), Roscoe Conklin (Willa Fitzgerald), or anyone else from Margrave, Georgia, again, because the Reacher TV show has always been about how Reacher moves around a lot in the books.
David O’Donnell, who plays a key role, and many other new cast members have been announced. Shaun Sipos will play O’Donnell, an old army buddy of Reacher’s who he feels is as close to him as a brother. Rory Cochrane, Serinda Swan, and Ferdinand Kingsley have also been added to the Season 2 cast of Reacher.
