On Monday’s broadcast of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson did a few things that surprised viewers.
During an episode of “Kellyoke,” Johnson did a country duet with the veteran performer. Hearing Johnson sing “Don’t Come Home a Drinkin'” by the late Loretta Lynn alongside Kelly Clarkson blew away fans.
One Twitter user said, “I would have never believed The Rock could sing a country tune.”
‘This is a surprise, didn’t know Dwayne sang until now and loved his deep voice that complements Kelly’s high notes,’ commented another YouTube user.
The song choice was not a coincidence considering Lynn died on Oct. 4. Johnson told Clarkson that he has been a fan of the country music icon for a very long time.
“I love Loretta Lynn, I really did. When I was younger, I was completely smitten by her “It was shared by Johnson.
The star of “Black Adam” mentioned that he spent his formative years in Nashville, where he was exposed to “classic country music,” and that he moved to Los Angeles when he was 15. He had hoped to become a famous country singer, but ultimately concluded, “It didn’t happen for me.” Johnson’s singing can be heard in the 2016 film “Moana.”
On Monday’s program, Johnson told a joke that had Clarkson laughing so hard she had to get out of her seat as a result.
A fan asked, “What is Black Adam’s favorite Dwayne Johnson movie?” during an Ask the Stars section.
Johnson said, to much hilarity, “Uh, I made a movie with my wife.” “It’s not possible, I’m afraid. Nevermind.”
Clarkson sat there for a second, trying to figure out what Johnson was making fun of before she leaped up and left the room. She reflected on the length of time it had taken her to “get it.”
That would probably be good… don’t brag! if they played my face back and I said, “Oh, that’s sweet,” and then, “Oh!”
Johnson is “hella funny and you never know what he’s going to say!” according to a YouTube user.
Johnson and Lauren Hashian have been married since early 2019. They have two kids — Jasmine, 6, and Tiana, 4.
This Friday, see Johnson in “Black Adam,” a film adaptation of a DC Comic. At Johnson’s appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Johnson was accompanied by co-stars Sarah Shahi, Noah Centineo, Pierce Brosnan, Aldis Hodge, and Quintessa Swindell.
