Selma Blair’s Surprisingly Emotional Exit From Dancing With the Stars!

It’s safe to say that nobody in the ballroom that night was able to keep a dry eye.

On the Oct. 17 edition of DWTS, the season’s most motivational dancer said goodbye to fans with a final performance.

Selma Blair, who has been competing in the competition since her 2018 diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, had some tough news to impart when she entered the rehearsal studio to practice her routine with partner Sasha Farber.

Selma assured Sasha, “You know I’ve been monitored and in touch with my doctors this entire process.” To paraphrase, “I pushed as far as I could, and the MRI results basically add up to the fact that I can’t carry on with the competition.”
Selma told Sasha,

“I’ll have to settle down and get back to being a parent and showing him I have to draw back on something that I enjoy doing and sometimes you make hard decisions.” She warned that if she persisted, she would risk serious harm to her body.

Selma was undeterred and declared, “I truly want to have one final wonderful dance with you.”

In fact, she did just that!
Selma and Sasha danced a beautiful waltz to “What the World Needs Now” that had everyone in the ballroom on their feet and reaching for tissues.
