With the European debut of “My Policeman” on the final night of the 2022 BFI London Film Festival, Emma Corrin brought the surrealist flair of the viral internet sensation to the British capital. Corrin, Harry Styles, and David Dawson feature in a new historical romantic drama premiering on Oct. 21.
The “Crown” actress wore a whimsical J.W. Anderson ensemble, styled by Harry Lambert, as she walked the red carpet at London’s Royal Festival Hall. Their shiny minidress had a bubble hem and a one-shoulder silhouette with a huge knotted strap; it was a hit from Anderson’s spring 2023 womenswear collection, which debuted last month at London Fashion Week.
The dress was made to look like a goldfish in a plastic bag, with plenty of green and an enlarged picture of a goldfish swimming underwater. Corrin’s Cartier diamond drop earrings finished off her surrealistic ensemble with a touch of glitz and glamour.
Corrin completed her look with a pair of heeled mule sandals, also designed by J.W. Anderson. Black leather was used for the uppers of their $795 Bumper model, and there were straps across the toe area. The pair was completed with spool heels measuring a total of 3.5 inches in height and whimsically rounded, padded soles.
Corrin’s most recent appearance on the carpet is for the “My Policeman” premiere. Besides the aforementioned “My Policeman,” recent projects for the star include
“Lady Chatterley’s Lover” on Netflix and the upcoming play “Orlando.” For instance, at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival for the official “My Policeman” screening, they caused a stir in a black Miu Miu bodysuit with sheer tights and leather pumps. This year, Miu Miu has also chosen Corrin to be the face of its spring 2022 and fall 2022 advertising campaigns.
The best future films of the year are honored at the BFI London Film Festival, together with the actors and actresses who will be featured in them.
Films including “The Good Nurse,” “My Policeman,” “Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical,” “The Whale,” and “Till” will all have their world premieres during the 2022 event, which will take place from October 5-16. A variety of celebrities, such as Jennifer Lawrence, Timothee Chalamet, Jessica Chastain, Eddie Redmayne, Salma Hayek, and Florence Pugh, have made appearances at the event.
