Lyra’s fantasy story will undoubtedly reach a stunning conclusion in season 3 of His Dark Materials.
Based on the third book of Philip Pullman, The Amber Spyglass, the third and final season is expected to air by the end of 2022. The BBC has not yet confirmed the official release date.
Here is all we know so far about the third season of His Dark Materials.
His Dark Materials Season 3 Plot
The upcoming season is based on The Amber Spyglass, the third and final book in Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials series.
As Asriel attempts to establish the new Republic of Heaven, the revolt against the Authority escalates to open conflict. To achieve his objectives, he requires the Subtle Knife, which is currently in Will’s possession.
The His Dark Materials Twitter account has released many images with the tagline “The end has begun.” His black ingredients are revealed by the amber spyglass.”
We could also expect to learn about the angels (or watchers) and be taken to new universes, such as the Land of the Dead and a world where the muleta, which looks like elephants, live.
And in season 2, there was a moment in the second episode involving a certain bench that was a sign of approval for a defining moment in the third book, which hints at how the series will end.

His Dark Materials is a prequel/sequel trilogy by Philip Pullman. Neither HBO nor BBC has said for sure that they plan to turn it into a show or movie.
Jane Tranter, who is the executive producer of His Dark Materials, said that the team working on the show would love to turn the previous books into movies in 2020.
