The Spanish Netflix show Money Heist is very popular and has a lot of twists and turns. Even though the show ended in November 2017 and was only popular with Antena 3 viewers for a short time, no one knew what would happen next. Once Netflix bought the rights to Money Heist, it became an international hit right away.
In a recent interview with Collider, actress Ursula Corbero said that the sudden success was shown by the fact that she and the rest of the cast gained millions of followers after the first episode of the series went live on the streaming service. Part 2, which was already finished, got a part 3, then a part 4, and now a part 5.
This is because the series is getting more and more popular. Money Heist Part 4 had a lot of action, and since we don’t have much longer to wait until Money Heist Part 5 comes out on Netflix’s streaming service, we’ve put together everything we know so far about this unpredictable and exciting original series.
Here’s what we know about the release date, the possible plot, the characters who will be back for the last season of Money Heist, and any spinoffs that might happen.
What Do We Know About the Money Heist Season 5 Plot?
The trailer for Money Heist: Part 5 Vol. 1 has shown us what’s to come. From the start, we know that the Professor is in danger because Alicia Sierra, a former police officer, has found where he has been hiding. The Professor has no way out for the first time, and he tells the rest of the gang that this might be the last time he can talk to them.
Aside from this, the robbers have been locked in the Bank of Spain for more than 100 hours. Now that Lisbon is there, she could be a very important helper in their plan to escape. She even yells, “We’re up against the ropes, but we’re not going to end up in a morgue!” in the trailer. There is a step back, though. Now, they will have to deal with an even bigger enemy when the army comes to attack the bank and ruin their plan.
In an interview with Deadline, creator and showrunner Alex Pina said that this will be the most violent and extreme turn of events in the series so far. During Part 5, he also said that the band will break up at some point.
Money Heist Season 5 Release Date
Money Heist may be getting close to the end, but it won’t end all at once. Netflix has said that Money Heist Season 5 will come out in two parts, which will make the ending even more exciting. The first five episodes of the first half will air on September 3.
Then, on December 3, the last five episodes of Money Heist will come out. So, yes, it’s time to say goodbye to the Professor (Alvaro Morte) and our favorite gang of robbers, but not so soon.
Cast of Money Heist Season 5
This Netflix original’s star-studded Spanish cast effortlessly persuaded the audience that the ostensible antagonists may not be so awful after all. Multiple farewells to fan favorites such as Berlin (Pedro Alonso), Nairóbi (Alba Flores), and Moscow have already occurred (Paco Tous). These murders were not only unexpected but also infamous in the unfolding events of the drama, indicating that no one in this robbery is safe.
Does this however imply that these characters will not appear in Part 5? According to what we could discern from Season 4’s flashbacks, Berlin will continue to be a major character in Season 5. However, we cannot rule out the possibility that Nairóbi would also return in flashbacks. We certainly hope so!
What is known is that the following actors will continue to appear in Money Heist’s last chapter:
- Professor (Álvaro Morte)
- Tokyo (Úrsula Corbero)
- Denver (Jaime Lorente Lopez)
- Rio (Miguel Herrán)
- Helsinki (Darko Peric)
- Raquel (Itziar Ituño)
- Monica (Esther Acebo)
- Palermo (Rodrigo de la Serna)
- Marsella (Luka Peros)
- Bogotá (Hovick Keuchkerian)

The trailer shows a lot of action and raises a lot of questions about what will happen next.
However, Netflix has also released the trailer for the other half of Part 5,
Will There Be Any Money Heist Spinoffs?

Is Tokyo Back in Money Heist Season 5?
The upcoming second part of Money Heist season five will be the last episode of the show. However, Ursula Cabo’s character, Tokyo, will be there, so it may not be a sad ending. Fans were sad to see the fiery character go, but a first-look clip from Netflix hints that she will be back.
