If there are no setbacks, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will launch in theaters on December 20, 2024. It’s a departure from the two films that came out earlier this year (February 2020 and April 2022, respectively). The financial success of those films proves that releasing them around Christmas is a smart move.

There’s been no word on when the third installment will enter production. But we figure it won’t be much later than 2023 at the earliest.
There’s been no word on when the Knuckles TV series spin-off will premiere. Despite the fact that we know when the third movie will be out.
Who Will Reprise Their Roles in Sonic the Hedgehog 3?
Even while we don’t know for sure who will be returning for Sonic the Hedgehog 3, we may still speculate. Naturally, Ben Schwartz will reprise his role as Sonic, and we can expect to see Colleen O’Shaughnessey return in the role of Tails and Idris Elba return in the role of Knuckles.

Some Other Casting Members
Other human characters include Sonic’s “parents,” Tom and Maddie Wachowski (James Marsden and Tika Sumpter), Agent Stone (Lee Majdoub), and Green Hills Deputy Sheriff Wade Whipple (Adam Pally). Natasha Rothwell as Maddie’s older sister Rachel and Shemar Moore as her fiancé Randall could return, as could Tom Butler as Commander Walters, given that GUN could play a bigger role in the third film with Shadow’s entrance.
Although Shadow’s appearance was teased in the end credits of the third film, the voice actor(s) who will be voicing Shadow remains unknown. Shadow is voiced by Kirk Thornton on the show, but we anticipate a casting change when the character makes its big-picture debut. As Shadow’s co-writer Pat Casey explained, Shadow is “motivated by hatred and revenge,” thus Sonic’s attempts to befriend him won’t go as smoothly as they did with Knuckles.
