After Zack Snyder’s superhero team-up film Justice League in 2021, Army of the Dead will be his second project in that year. Netflix will release The Zombie Heist on May 21, 2021. On the same day, it was launched in limited release in the United States.
With Dave Bautista starring, Ella Purnell and Omari Hardwick round out the supporting cast, along with Theo Rossi, Matthias Schweighöfer, and Nora Arnezeder.

As Vanderohe, Omari Hardwick is a veteran of Hollywood who has been in a number of notable films and television shows. Because of his prior experience with action films like Kick-Ass and The A-Team, Hardwick was arguably one of the finest possibilities for Army of the Dead.
In 2018, he had a starring role in the dark comedy Sorry to Bother You, which featured a number of other well-known actors, including Lakeith Stanfield and Tessa Thompson.
Ana Reguera (Maria Cruz)

On May 14, 2021, 600 locations in the United States, including 330 Cinemarks, were released, making it the first broad release at a major theatre chain and the fourth after The Midnight Sky, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and The Christmas Chronicles 2 for Netflix.
As of May 21, the film is streamable on Netflix. On May 21, Creating an Army of the Dead, a documentary on the film’s production, was released. Peter Aperlo’s 192-page book Army of the Dead: The Making of the Film was published on June 1, 2021. It contains images, interviews, costumes, and storyboards from the set.

To further develop the Army of the Dead franchise, Netflix revealed in September 2020 that they had given the go-ahead for the production of two prequels to the series: a spin-off prequel film and an anime-style prequel series.
