Female flight officer on a top-secret World War II mission in the Pacific when encounters an evil gremlin aboard Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress.
At the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival, the film had its world debut on September 12 and was awarded the People’s Choice Award for Midnight Madness.
Developed by Vertical Entertainment and Redbox Entertainment, the film was released on 1 January 2021.

An injured Maude Garrett gets up at the last minute on a warplane dubbed Fool’s Errand in 1943, and Moretz plays her. The year is 1943. Despite Maude’s claims that she was sent on this mission to transfer classified papers from New Zealand to Samoa, the captain and the rest of the all-male crew do not trust her.
After all, the military does not have any female pilots! She is subjected to a barrage of sexist remarks and is made to spend the whole trip in a spherical hatch, which is where the plane’s armament resides. Maude hesitantly passes over her bag to Sergeant Walter Quaid (Taylor John Smith), the lone nice crew member, who pledges to keep it safe for her.
Later, Maude is found to be lying about her encounter with the gremlins. Her cargo is a drugged infant that she snuck into the plane, and she is an American, not a Brit. Her last name is Johnson. It is Maude’s story that she is fleeing from an abusive, intoxicated, and violent spouse.
In the course of an affair with Sergeant Walter Quaid, she became pregnant, and her husband was somehow aware of this. Fearing for her life, Maude forged some paperwork to be assigned on the plane and sneaked her baby inside the leather satchel—and immediately ran across the guy she had cheated on her husband with on board the flight.
It’s been a long time since Quaid found out about Maude’s pregnancy, and he’s furious about it. Maude responds that she was terrified Quaid would break up with her again after discovering her marriage. The plane is attacked by gremlins, and Maude’s baby is stolen.

Roseanne Liang’s second feature-length directorial attempt, My Wedding and Other Secrets were released in 2011. We can see that Moretz has a lot on her plate, as she has to deal with the job at hand as well as a lurking monster that is going to make things much more difficult.
As Chole Grace Moretz’s character Maude boards a bomber jet with an all-male crew, a synthy soundtrack plays. In addition to their skepticism about the presence of a woman on board, the males are surprised by the nature of her mission. When a monster gets on board, the situation goes from stressful to horrific.

A series of incredible physics-defying feats allow Maude to save her kid and land the plane safely. It’s not over yet; a gremlin tries to snatch the baby from her. (It appears that gremlins are particularly fond of human newborns!) Be at ease. The gremlin is killed and Maude’s baby is saved for good. She breastfeeds her kid as the plane is on fire.
