Lenovo Halo smartphone Launching with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus and 144Hz Display; Why you should be EXCITED?

Gaming fans might have a brand new model of phone to buy. According to tipster Evan Blass, Lenovo is set to launch a very new gaming phone. It has been so far dubbed Lenovo Halo, yet there is much more to this simple-looking phone.

To begin with, the name ‘Halo’ might just be codeword instead of the full name. In the pictures released by the tipster, the phone sports the name Legion, which could be the actual model name. The phone seems to have either a glass or a fiber frame, neither sure clearly due to lack of information from the company There has been no confirmation from the company and therefore, all knowledge we have is this.

Release Date

Due to this being a tipster deed, there is no surety as to when the phone would actually release. Word has it that Lenovo is still working on the development of the phone. In all probability, the phone will arrive in the third half of this year. The phone can come out in Fall. However, it is still speculation. So, all the gamers can do is sit tight for its launch.

Based on the pictures that have surfaced, it is clear that the phone will have a 6.7-inch screen with a 144 Hz refresh rate and 300 Hz touch sampling rate. There are three cameras at the back of the phone within a rectangular module and one at the front of the phone. The phone design is similar to most other phones out there, with a rectangular shape.

The name Legion appears at the back of the phone, which is possibly the name that the company would go with. The thickness is possibly 8 mm.

It is the specs of this phone which are getting most gamers extremely excited. The phone is rumored to be powered by something bigger than Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. According to reports, it is Qualcomm’s SM8475 SoC, which is an advanced version of the chipset. The official name could be both Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus or Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

The phone is set to have different Ram configurations of 8, 12, and 16 GB, paired with storage of 128 or 256 GB storage. It may support UFS 3.1 storage.

While the phone is not the successor of Lenovo Legion Duel 2, it is rumored to share similar features. The phone allows for a gamepad-like gaming experience. It came in with dual-cooling fans to allow better thermal control for the gaming phone. Furthermore, Lenovo Legion has some of the best connectivity options, with 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, two USB-C ports, and a Wi-Fi 6. If Lenovo Halo follows on the same line, the phone could possibly have similar features to enhance the gaming experience.

The Lenovo Legion Duel 2 costs around $900. If Lenovo ‘Halo’ comes up with better features and an increased speed, gamers can expect the phone to have a higher cost. But there are rumors of the smartphone being cheaper at around $550 in the USA.

However, at the same time, the Company is planning to release a better version of the Lenovo Legion Y90 gaming phone. It is rumored to get a bigger screen. If so is the case, then gamers can expect a more affordable phone.
