Everything To Know About New PlayStation Game Service Subscriptions Yet To Be Launched

0

PlayStation is a famous, or I’d rather say, an infamous product of all time.

Ever since it was introduced on December 3, 1994; Which makes it exactly 27 years old, it had been an instant, smashing hit!

So much so, that nowadays, it became the most ideal gift to give on someone’s birthday.

Many also see it as a pride factor, like to see their favorite series coming out as a game. For example, Avatar, Spiderman, Hogwarts legacy.

Or, a pride factor just to simply boast about their new PS5.

Its owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment and its market exists all over the world.

The first-ever handheld game console in the series, the PlayStation Portable or PSP, sold a total of 80 million units worldwide by November 2013, which makes it a hit, and also that’s when the craze started to hype up.

It also has an online service called “The PlayStation Network” which has about 110 million registered users, as of June 2013, and over 103 million active users monthly as of December 2019.

And, just something to show how famous PlayStation really is, Dudley Dursley used to own a PlayStation, overlooking the fact that he angrily threw it out of the window in the summer of 1994, which resulted in him being unable to play Mega-Mutilation Part Three, a PlayStation game

It is said in a recent report that Sony plans to launch a new subscription game service for all its PlayStation consoles that’ll successfully compete with Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass.

This new service is likely expected to launch next year.

It will let people pay a monthly subscription fee to get “access to a catalog of modern and classic games,” says a recent report Friday from Bloomberg.

According to Bloomberg, this new service will surely merge with Sony’s existing subscriptions, like PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now.

PS Plus and PS Now both offer online access to games, but they have little overlapping content.

Sony also plans to stick with PlayStation Plus branding but phase out PlayStation Now.

This new service is reportedly expected to be available on the PS5 and PS4.

Sony is going to offer three tiers of the new service, though it’s pretty much unclear how much each tier is going to cost.

But we do know that PS Plus and PS Now both currently cost $10 a month or $60 a year.

The first tier is said to include the existing benefits of PS Plus, while the second is going to offer a larger catalog of PS4 and PS5 games.

The third tier would be bringing in the “extended demos, game streaming and a library of classic PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP games,”.

Though we still have to wait for a comment from PlayStation. So, it’s still pretty soon to assume anything else.

Sure, we have to wait before enjoying the said benefits(Is it really a benefit though? To have to pay. I leave that for you all to ponder on), but good things happen to those who wait. (Again, whoever said this quote, What in the world were they thinking?).
