Valve, the American video game developer, publisher, and digital distribution company finally updated their Youtube channel this time. The update is the launch of a new trailer for Steam Deck. The trailer was launched on 14 th August 2021.
With fans waiting for the Nintendo Switch Pro for ages, they finally have a console to land on. Nintendo has been leading the handheld market but the new Steam Deck can become its major competition this year. The new Steam Deck will be launching this year in December. The trailer for the Steam Deck gives us a quick overview of the device and some of its features.
The Stream Deck is claimed to be the most powerful handheld which will definitely improve your gaming experience with its cloud saves and Steam chat. The Steam Deck has the ability to provide you with the portable gaming feature so you can play even on the go. This has been highlighted in the minute-long trailer of the device.
This handheld supports games like the Ghostrunner, Prey, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Death Stranding, Control, Slay the Spire, and The Ascent which run quite smoothly without lags and breakages while streaming. If these high-traffic games run smoothly on the device it is definitely a great purchase.
You can reserve your Steam Deck as expressed by Valve at the end of the trailer. There are different models and you can choose one. The shipping of all these Steam Deck models will begin in December 2021. But don’t expect the console to arrive early. It will reach you in 2022 for sure. These pre-orders will occur in two waves. The first one will be from July 16th 2021 at 1pm EST. You can order the handheld from Steam’s official store called storesteampowered.com. Over there you will get three model options –
- 64 GB eMMC – Carrying case
- 256 GB NVMe SSD – Faster storage, Carrying case, Exclusive Steam Community profile bundle.
- 512 GB NVMe SSD – Fastest storage, Premium anti-glare etched glass, Exclusive carrying case, Exclusive Steam Community profile bundle, and Exclusive virtual keyboard theme.
You can make the purchase only after you have logged in to your Steam Account. To register for the pre-order you need to have made a purchase from the Store prior to June 2021. If you have not purchased anything before you can wait for 48 hours and then the second wave will open on 18th July 2021 at 1 pm EST, where you can make a purchase.
You can pre-order only one Steam Deck per Valve Account and you need to pay $ 5 as a registration fee to fix your spot on the long digital queue for the device. This fee will be deducted from your original Steam Deck cost after the purchase is completed. If you change your mind and cancel your Steam Deck or miss your turn the registration fee will be refunded back to your account within a span of 30 days.
Even Steamworks Development has posted a 7 minute long YouTube video on their channel giving some Quick Tips for your Steam Deck. This video isn’t a trailer, but rather it is an overview of the device’s features. In the video, the one thing that attracted me the most is the design of the model. It’s quite handy, to be honest.
