This news came out on 5th August 2021, when the company registered its new Chromecast device on the FCC listing. Earlier Google did launch a Chromecast with Nest cameras and after some time the Chromecast was made available in a combo package with the Stadia Controller.

This device was described as a wireless streaming device and it was the Chromecast. Recently Google listed another device to FCC listing with a model number quite similar to the old one. It is also described as a wireless streaming device. So through sources, it has been revealed that it would be the new Chromecast.

The FCC listing often describes the model number of the device and some features and specifications. The new Google device also has certain new features. The model number is different from the previous model number. The model number for this particular device is GJQ9T. One more specification revealed is the FCC ID which is a unique identifier assigned to a device registered with the United States Federal Communications Commission. The FCC ID on the device is located at the back pointing out the fact that the device does not possess a screen. Also the device supports and works on both WiFi and Bluetooth. The device also supports a USB connection which clearly reveals that the new device is a Chromecast.

The equipment under test document from FCC reveals that the device is a wireless streaming device of Google. The power supply is listed to be USB 5V which is a standard, everyday USB port. It has a frequency of 2.4 GHz and has a Peak Antenna Gain of 2.13.

The sole job of Chromecast is to plug into your TV or monitor from your phone or computer by using an HDMI port and thus helps stream content on a bigger screen. The HDMI port is a High-Definition Multimedia Interface is a proprietary audio/video interface for transmitting uncompressed video data and compressed or uncompressed digital audio data from an HDMI-compliant source.
