iPad mini to be launched in the second half of 2021, Kuo and Mark confirm this rumour, see more details here.

The iPad has gained widespread popularity in the last few years. With Apple launching new updated models of the old iPad, iPad Pro, and iPad Air it’s time for Apple to launch a new updated model of the last one remaining which is the iPad mini.

The iPad was launched on 3rd April 2010 and since then these devices are the top demanded devices in the market. iPads can perform various functions like shoot videos, play games, shoot photos, watch movies, email, listen to music, etc.

iPads have a great demand among graphic designers and illustration artists who use iPads to draw and illustrate.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman expressed in a  newsletter report that it’s time for Apple to launch their new updated model of the iPad mini, and he expects that it should be launched in the fall of 2021.

This launch has been rumored a lot this year by experts and business insiders. Ming-Chi Kuo an analyst at the TF International Securities keeps an eye on the supply chain of Apple in Asia and gathers information that can be beneficial for the customers and his clients. He was the one who noted that a new model of the

iPad mini will be launched in the first half of 2021 but later in May expressed that the iPad mini will launch in the second half of 2021.

Gurman and Kuo both have referred to the fact that Apple will be launching a newly redesigned model of the iPad mini in 2021. They even confirm that this model will include small bezels- borders between a screen and a phone’s frame, and the iPad mini will not have a Home Button either.

They believe that this updated model for the mini will launch in 2021 before the company moves on to redesign the iPad Pro which they plan to launch in 2022.

Apple is no new to the race and does suffer from the same problems as Microsoft and Sony suffer. Both these companies have felt a shortage in chips and different computing parts due to which they cannot produce new devices which Apple also feels. Kuo feels that it was due to a shortage in the components and chips that Apple delayed the initial launch of the iPad mini.

Talking about the success of iPads during 2020, the total sales of iPad were more than 70% during the lockdown even though iPads were initially designed for people who travel a lot. iPad initially was sold with the tagline computer on the go. It is quite ironic to see sales of Apple’s iPad rise during a pandemic.

The iPad mini sells for $399 which last updated had an A12 processor installed in it and supported the Apple Pencil. While the normal iPad sells for almost $329 much cheaper than the iPad mini. The standard iPad too includes a similar processor and supports the Apple Pencil.

The most recently launched iPad belongs to the Pro series and it was launched in May,  with an M1 processor which also included a 5G support. This iPad Pro sells between $799 to $1,299 depending on which add on’s you prefer.
