Why Is Windows 10 Not Going To Get DirectStorage Support? Everything To Know

So recently Windows has dropped yet another bomb with the launch of its newest Windows 11 software. This new Windows 11 will be offering you a brand new experience that will bring you closer to the people and things you love and are passionate about.

Windows 11 will be providing you with a calm and creative space where you can pursue your passions so basically it is like your safe place where you can do anything you wish for. From a fresh new Start menu comprising new ways to connect to your favorite people, news, games, and other content. This brand new software is allowing its users to think, express, and create in the most natural and easy way possible.

The new Windows 11 software, has many perks and advantages which will benefit you the most. For instance, you will be able to access all the apps you need and multi-task with ease with the help of its latest tools like snap layouts, desktops, and many more. Not only that you will also be able to connect instantly to the people you care about right from your desktop with Microsoft Teams with no new hassle all you have to do is call or chat for free and they can respond to you from wherever or whichever device they are on. Adding on to that with a multitude of Widgets you get to choose which app to keep and which app to discard and these widgets will also help you in staying up to date with the news, information, and entertainment that matters most to you.

Now for the most highlighted portion of the launch event of Microsoft’s Windows 11 was that they were quite vocal and said it up straight that Windows 11 is going to be “the best Windows Ever for Gaming”. And this is because of its two major features that are going to lead its gaming attack for the user. One of the features is the Auto HDR and the other is the DirectStorage, both features must have been heard of before as they both had their roots grown in Microsoft’s Xbox games console development. But the only disheartening part is that many of you had thought that DirectStorage will also be available in Windows 10 but ever since the launch event, it has been confirmed by Microsoft that DirectStorage “will only be available with Windows 11”. So dear reader there is no way that DirectStorage is coming in Windows 10 so it is advisable that you get over that dream.

So for the one who hasn’t heard of these features before you all must be wondering what DirectStorage is and why is it so important that people were hoping for it to come in Windows 10? Well, DIrectStorage is a feature that is designed to fully take advantage of the latent power of NVMe SSDs and has been created to make games load faster, but to also support the vast, open game worlds with modern titles. Being able to “quickly load assets to the graphics card without bogging down the CPU,” will mean open-world games rendering “at lightning speeds, without long load times.” so definitely a lot of good news for the gamers out there.

So if you, my dear readers, want to make the most of your NVMe SSD in games then you will need to first upgrade to Windows 11 from your Windows 10. Because there is no point now waiting for this update to come in Windows 10 as the statement that DirectStorage “will only be available with Windows 11” had implicitly meant that Windows 10 is not going to get a compatibility update. So it is of no use to sit with your Windows 10 and wait for some miracle to happen regarding the availability of the DirectStorage feature.
