Kim Jong-Un Compares K-Pop With A “Vicious Cancer” For North Korea And Also Wants It Banned


Kim Jong-un is the leader of North Korea and he is a North Korean politician. He has been the Supreme Leader of North Korea since 2011. He declared the popular music genre from South Korea a ‘vicious cancer’ which is corrupting the nation’s youth and their culture. He thought that they are dominating their culture that’s why he took a decision. And he just wants to ban K-pop music. Enduring in line with the country’s crackdown on ‘capitalistic lifestyle’ and Western influences on youths. He thought that this thing must be harmful or influence their youth. Which is not good.

From one report Kim Jong-Un said the music and its influence harmed the ‘attire, hairstyles, speeches, behaviors’ of North Koreans and that it could also make North Korea ‘crumble like a damp wall’. And However, Kim isn’t a fan of the genre, claiming it is corrupting. He is a type of dictator who just wants to the things according to him he also thought that these type of pop song ruin their culture. But Kim Jong Un’s current dislike for the South Korean music genre becomes years after the former had visited concerts by the musicians from South Korea and has been ‘deeply moved’ by it, the report said. And he is the first North Korean leader who attends a concert by entertainers from the South.

In recent time he had launched a crackdown on South Korean pop culture, including movies, K-dramas, and K-pop videos. And he announced new law last year in December sense that those who are found watching or having entertainment from across the border face five to 15 years in labor camps. Somebody will also be punished with labor if they “talk, write or sing in South Korean style”, while those handing matters to North Koreans could face the death penalty.

If we talk about BTS singers also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a seven-member South Korean boy band that began formation in 2010 and debuted in 2013 under Big hit entertainment. They are now famous all over the world and have a great fan following. In their group, seven members and are  Jin, Suga, J-HOpe, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. They have achieved great success in very little time and we also listen to that because of their popularity South Korea changed some laws. They did these things for the more specific people like athletes or a person who achieved great success. This is a great thing for encouraging youth who have great talent. BTS uses great sense in their songs which is valid and that attracts people to listen. They also put their opinion on important topics which influence people to take the right decision.  This is a point that if they have lots of supporters of fans all over the world at that meantime they also have haters who don’t like their song. So it is like a coin that has two aspects that can be right or wrong now let’s see what happened in the next phase.
