Michael Anthony Strahan is an American television personality, journalist and former professional football player, at the defensive end, he has spent his entire 15-year career with the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He has also set a record for the most sacks in a season in 2001 and helped the Giants win Super Bowl XLII over the New England Patriots in his final season in 2007. But soon after he decided to retire from the NFL and chose he became a media personality. Strahan is now a football analyst on Fox NFL Sunday, and co-host of ABC’s Good Morning America. But with the latest news poring in it is known that after a tragic incident that happened on Tuesday the Good Morning America host has been crushed.
The tragic death of Jim Fassel has been shocking and soul-crushing for Michael Strahan, who had played under Jim Fassel during his seven years as Giants head coach Jim Fassel died on Monday at the age of 71 after suffering a heart attack. Jim’s son confirmed his father’s passing news to the Los Angeles Times. In the interview, he revealed that very frequently Jim was taken to hospital after suffering from chest pains. This is one huge loss for the whole sports industry and is very unfortunate.
James Edward Fassel was an amazing American college and professional football player and coach. He was the head coach of the New York Giants of the National Football League from 1997 to 2003. He was offensive coordinator of other NFL teams, and as head coach, general manager, and president of the Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League. It is so disheartening to lose such a talented and amazing person.
Whereas Michael has been utterly distraught and posted a heartfelt tribute over social media where he uploaded many pictures of his former coach with the caption saying ‘RIP to a man who played a big part in my life, Jim Fassel. Coach, you will be missed. You were not only a great coach but, more importantly, a great man and friend. To Coach Fassel’s family, my condolences and love go out to all of you. This news is devastating and hard to comprehend. Always remember life is too short and to make sure you hug and call the people you care about and tell them you love them.’ Now, this is where every sportsman and all the football fans’ hearts broke as this sudden death was very unexpected. Michael also addressed Jim’s death on his show, Good Morning America, personally saying that “He will be missed. I was definitely shocked this morning to find out this news. I just want to send my love and condolences to his family.”
His post had an outpour of supportive messages all praying for the well-being and health of Jim’s family and praying that his soul rests in peace and also sending supportive messages to Michael who was shattered into bits and pieces after this tragic event. I request that we all should also pray for their wellbeing and reminisce the good memories of an amazing coach and player and keep him in our hearts and prayers.
