Henry Richard Enfield, a popular English comedian, actor, writer, and director who is widely known in particular for his television work, including Harry Enfield’s Television Programme and Harry & Paul, and for the creation and portrayal of comedy characters such as Kevin the Teenager and Loadsamoney. The latest news brings in that the comedian will play the Prince of Wales in The Windsors: Endgame which is due to play for a duration of 10 weeks in London this summer. The Windsors is a British sitcom and parody of the British royal family, the House of Windsor. It was first broadcasted on Channel 4 in April 2016 with a very popular cast which includes Harry Enfield, Haydn Gwynne, Hugh Skinner, Louise Ford, Richard Goulding, Tom Durant-Pritchard, Kathryn Drysdale, Morgana Robinson, Ellie White, and Celeste Dring. It is written by the co-creators of Star Stories, Bert Tyler-Moore, and George Jeffrie. Although the stories are all made up and completely fictional, they are inspired by true stories from the British Royal Family.
Now, this is one joyous moment because just the time you thought that you have had enough of the British Royal Family, Bert Tyler-Moore and George Jeffrie are back with a bang. With a stage version of the TV series, it is going to be more fun and dramatic to watch. This new version promises various “songs, sword fights and snogging competitions” with a plot that will include “Wills challenging his own father for the crown and Camilla determined to see him off and rule the land with an iron fist”. The plot also adds onto Harry and Meghan who are beckoned back from America and ask how Beatrice and Eugenie can “clear their father Prince Andrew’s name”. In short The Windsors: Endgame will be really fun to watch with the various plot twists and turns with drama and the never-ending comedy after all Harry Enfield is playing the lead role so we all can definitely expect a lot of comedy which is going to happen.
It has been officially announced that The Windsors: Endgame will open at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London from the 2nd of August, and will run until the 9th of October. This is definitely a lovely break for all the citizens of London as with the ongoing pandemic and the number of covid cases rising and decreasing and all the tension built up all around the globe, the arrival of the all-time favorite comedy show can definitely lighten up the atmosphere.
Although there were some problems related to the show running in the theater as after all it is going to be a live stage performance which will attract a huge crowd and with keeping the whole pandemic thing in mind there was a bit of problem but luckily the Prince of Wales Theatre was temporarily vacant hence The Windsors: Endgame is able to run at the theater until The Book of Mormon which is planning to make its return to the theaters in November.
So until then sit tight dear readers and fans of the British Royal Family.
