The Devil Is a Part-Timer! is another hit anime based on a Japanese light novel series written by Satoshi Wagahara, with illustrations by Oniku. ASCII Media Works has published the series in Japan, while Yen Press has published the series in North America. Which now makes a comeback with a brand new season nearly after 8 long years. It must have been so agonizing for all the fans to wait for all these years for a new season.
So my dear fans and readers, The Devil Is a Part-Timer Season 2 was announced at the Kadokawa Corporation’s Light Novel Expo. So let’s have a quick recap for the first season. The Devil Is a Part-timer was released on April 4th, 2013 with a total of thirteen episodes but back then the viewership was very low but ever since Netflix added The Devil is a Part-Timer Season 1, later on to its anime library the crowd went crazy and couldn’t wait to witness the brand new season. But 8 years… Now that was one long wait for everyone.
So in the first season, we were introduced to Satan Jacob, who had set out to capture Ente Isla, but then came in Emilia Justina to stop Satan Jacob in his mission and to even seek revenge as Emilia’s father was believed to be killed by Jacob’s army. Thus being the hero she successfully defeats him with the help of her comrades and forces him to retreat. But that was not it. With the vow in her mind, she follows Satan Jacob as he retreats and then comes in the twist when both are landed in Tokyo instead of his realm without any of their old magical powers. Helpless Emilia and Satan had to adjust to this new world and the only way which they could do that was by entering the corporate world. But that wasn’t the end of their chapter as they were destined to meet again, as one day Satan discovered that Emilia was working in the same place as him.
The story kept progressing with new twists and turns for instance the most shocking news for both Emilia and the viewers must have been when they got to know that Emliai’s father is still alive. As a result, the anime ends on a very different note than the ones you all had predicted or even assumed which left all the viewers and fans with millions of questions in mind… So now the important question is when will we get the answers to our questions?
Well, the producer has not specified an exact release date. But, fans can expect Season 2 to be released by the end of 2021 or 2022. This delay is because the first two volumes of the light novel were used to make Season 1 of The Devil is a Part-Timer so for Season 2 we can assume that they will start from the third volume but as the third volume is yet to be published so the creators don’t have an anime content in hand and are finding it difficult to begin the production. However, the trailer of season 2 has already arrived depicting a lot of new art designs so don’t worry dear readers I am sure they will soon start the production of Season 2 and it will be available to you in no time.
