Eastside: Halsey, Ed Sheeran, Benny Blanco & Khalid Sued Due To Copyright Infringement Lauwsuit

Ed Sheeran famous singer of “Shape Of You ” is accused of plagiarism Lawsuit. His fans are rocked by this news. Benny Blanco released a debut solo “Eastside”, which promoted Khalid and Halsey. The song became popular being at the top 10 on the Hot 100. Halsey sang it when she performed on Saturday night live show ( an American live late-night television sketch comedy and variety show created by Lorne Michaels and developed by Dick Everson.) Currently however this triumvirate along with the co-writer Ed Sheeran and all labels that took part and distributed the song – is being sued by the songwriter (Konstantine Lois and Shane Williams )who blamed that “ Eastside” was a ripoff. They filed a lawsuit against everyone who is involved in Benny’s super hit in 2018.

According to the TMZ(thirty-mile zone, the historic “studio zone” ) reports Konstantine and Shane raised an allegation against Halsey, Ed Sheeran, Benny Blanco, & Khalid. They stated that Blanco and the other artist lifted “Eastside” from “Loveless,” which was written by Lois and Williams in 2015 for Williams’s band American XO. In the court documents, it is stated that the duo apparently breaks down all the allegations made for the similarities between the two songs “Eastside” and “Loveless” and points for an interview. A similar note between the two music “note dyads, note intervals, similar tempos and rhythmic compositions of ‘Thinking’ an all around the drum compositions with familiar beats” after comparing with another.

In the interview, Blacano informed that he has a habit to listen 10 to 12 music of new artists and it gives him inspiration. Ed Sheeran denied all the allegations made against him, and no further action was taken by the government. A judge from the United State ruled against him on Thursday to dismiss the lawsuit made against him.

But Lois and William said they believed that one of those days Blacano inspired to write “Eastside” after hearing “ Loveless” and Benny stumbled upon their song somehow at least the similarities are fairly obvious to their ears. Baccano, Khalid, Halsey might be able to create their’s own if they put their minds to do it. Though it is not for the first time that Ed Sheeran has been claimed for copyright issues.
In 2018, a prosecution was made against Sheeran when his song “Thinking Out Loud” was found a similarity to Marvin Gaye’s famous song “Let’s Get It On .” There were lots of affinities like the same “melody, rhythms, harmonies, drums, bassline, backing chorus, tempo, syncopation, and looping”. Apart from this 3 years ago, he was also sued for copying an iconic single by the heirs of Ed Townsend and Marvin who were the co-writers of the song but both of them are now no more. They also accused him.

According to the lawsuit “ The defendants copied the word ‘Heart’ in place of ‘Let’s and made a repetition throughout the ‘Thinking’.
People can listen to both of the songs “Eastside” and “Loveless” and can come to the decision that the song is similar or not. The link has been given below.
