Oppo has just announced that it will be launching the Oppo K9 smartphone in India on May 22. Although there aren’t many details about the device revealed, it is expected to include a 90Hz AMOLED display and Snapdragon 768G SoC.  This new addition to the smartphone series will surely bring huge excitement among the buyers due to its new set of amazing features which makes it worth every penny. In addition to unveiling its latest flagship smartphone, the Oppo K9, Chinese smartphone manufacturer OPPO also launched a new line of smart televisions and introduced OPPO Enco Air True wireless earbuds.

The Oppo K9 features a 6.43-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate. This display provides a crisp and clear resolution of 2400×1080. The display uses AMOLED technology with an aspect ratio of 90% screen to body ratio. The Oppo K9 has a peak brightness of 700 nits, making it one of the brightest smartphones on the market. The only other device to reach this brightness is the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. It’s also quite thin and light with an 8mm profile and weighing just 172 grams.

Packed with a main 64-megapixel camera – the Dual pixel and AIS combine to enable crisp, low noise images with high detail. There are two wide-angle cameras on the back, one 8-megapixel sensor with an aperture of f/2.4, and another 2-megapixel camera with 10x optical zoom. The front-facing camera has 32 megapixels and sports a hole-punch display which is said to improve image quality. The smartphone is equipped with the Snapdragon 768G processor, a revolutionary eight-core chipset from Qualcomm. These octa-core chipsets are built on a 7nm EUV process (evaporation) with 2.8GHz clocking power. They boast better power efficiency and blazing processing speeds.

The improved Adreno 620 GPU provides 15% improved graphics performance over the previous generation, for immersive gaming experiences with ultra-realistic visuals and faster frame rates. The Snapdragon X50 modem is designed to support 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G. This new modem offers dramatic increases in data throughput and capacity, enabling future ultra-high definition (UHD) mobile video experiences. The phone is also equipped with a Game Turbo key that lets users easily detect the connect rate, ping value, and frame rate per second.

While gaming the owners have created multiple sets up so as to keep the phone cool and not generating heat. This ensures that the phone has a good and lifelong battery and doesn’t let the users down. It has a huge battery that delivers up to 7 hours of continuous video playback, thanks to its 4,300 mAh capacity. Its high-speed charging technology, which OnePlus calls “fast charge,” gives the battery enough juice in just 35 minutes. The OnePlus 6 runs on ColorOS 11.1 (based on Android 11), and it’s one of the few non-Google devices that run on the latest version of Android.

Oppo launched K9 in China. It has two variants based on internal storage. The top-end one has 128GB of internal storage and is priced at CNY 1999 (~Rs 22,800) whereas the other variant with 256GB of internal storage is priced at CNY 2199 (~Rs 25,000). The device is available in two color options.
