iQOO 7 series to come up with BMW M branding Confirmed to launch in India

The partnership between Vivo’s subsidiary iQOO and BMW Motorsport resulted in something spectacular. IQOO confirmed recently, that its upcoming smartphone under the iQOO 7 Series will feature the well-known, classical BMW strips. Now, the prominent tri-colored BMW racing stripes will be featured on the back IQOO device, soon to be launched in India.

Not only the device will feature these racing stripes, but, as a sign of this extended partnership, a slogan will also be there on IQOO’s upcoming flagship. The slogan will read, “Fascination Meets Innovation”.

The goal of this partnership is to deliver ultra-fast technology coupled with high performance in the smartphone. Speaking more on the partnership, Gagan Arora, Director-Marketing iQOO gave us a hint regarding what more the upcoming iQOO 7 series smartphones may offer. Reportedly, the iQOO 7 series smartphones would be emphasizing more on gaming as well as photographic abilities.

Notably, this series has already launched in China and it will be hitting Indian markets on 26th April. The company disclosed the release information in a media invite, also, through an official tweet.

In China, the device was launched in two color variants. And the Legend edition comes with a white back panel with the iconic blue, black, and red stripes that represent BMW M Motorsport.

Coming back to the partnership, the relationship between these two organizations started back in 2020 with the iQOO BMW M4 DTM participation in the 2020 DTM season.

It will be interesting to see IQOO launch a special edition device with BMW. Before this, we’ve seen Oppo and OnePlus playing this game of coming with a special edition device. To recall, Oppo did the Lamborghini edition while OnePlus did the McLaren Edition.

Specifications and other details

There’s more to the device than just its classy design. The iQOO 7 will feature a 6.62-inch AMOLED display coupled with FHD+ screen resolution and a variable 120Hz refresh rate. Inside its racing body, the device carries an octa-core Snapdragon 888 SoC. That too, with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

It should be noted that all of these specifications are based on the variant released in China, back in January 2021.

In today’s scenario, if we talk about a device and leave its photographic capabilities, then, it will be ‘offense’ in the court of technology.

So, there’s a triple camera set-up, which consists of a 48MP main camera with an f/1.79 lens, a 13MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 lens, and a 13MP telephoto unit. You can take a selfie with a 16-megapixel camera at the front with an f/2.0 lens. According to tech reviewers, iQOO 7 cameras are very much similar to that of Vivo X60’s. Adding to this, the device is powered by a 4,000mAh battery supporting 120W fast charging.

Now, coming to the most important factor, Price. As of now, the price tag of the upcoming smartphone is kept a secret. But, somewhat counterintuitively, iQOO has been regularly teasing its upcoming smartphones on the Twitter handle. Through those tweets, we know that the price of upcoming devices will be below INR 40,000.
