In the month of January, the news of Rihanna and her billionaire boyfriend, Hassan Jameel’s split took over social media. Although, the reason behind the break-up remained unknown. Both of them have kept their three-year relationship private, and similar was their split. Different internal sources reported that the couple didn’t give any reason for calling it off. That’s fair enough, nobody has a right to question their personal decisions.
But, it came as shock to the public, especially fans of Rihanna. In an interview, they’ve heard her expressing her certain conviction in the relationship with Hassan. According to People Magazine, The reason behind the split of these two love birds is incompatibility.
A source close to the popular couple said, “Their lives were too different and it was hard to maintain a relationship.”
The history of their relationship
According to reports in mainstream media, there are not enough photographs of Rihanna and Hassan, as it was their personal choice to keep this relationship private. As per the Instagram posts, this relationship began in late 2016 or early 2017. Rihanna was spotted with a tall, dark-haired man, who turned out to be a Saudi businessman, Hassan Jameel.
In an interview with The Sun, Rihanna’s father said, “She told me she had a new boyfriend about a month ago. “He’s going to have to buckle up, she’s a hard-working girl, she’s very independent and ambitious. Nobody can tell her what to do. She doesn’t want to be lifted up, she wants to get up there herself.”
The last photograph of Rihanna with Hassan was taken in Beverly Hills. In 2019, both of them were also spotted together in Italy. Although they never made a red carpet appearance together, their poolside pics became very famous. Those pictures were adored by the public to the extent that it started a viral hashtag #RihannaHasAMan.
Reports by US Weekly suggest that the reason behind such a strong relationship between Rihanna and Hassan was their opposite nature.
“The romance was a case of opposites attract. Rihanna and Hassan understand each other very well and their personalities mesh well together,” a source previously told Us Weekly. “They’re both so different, but it works for them.” Although the couple tried to keep their relationship out of public sight. But, Rihanna never backed away when asked about the same.
While speaking to Sarah Paulson for Interview magazine, when asked about her relationship status, she said ‘Google it’, funnily dismissing the question. After this, when asked is she in love? Then, she said of course.
When the interviewer probed further regarding her marriage plans, she said, “Only God knows that girl, We plan and God laughs, right?”
