According to the data released by Nielsen,” Coming 2 America” became the most-streamed program for the second consecutive week. The report suggests that the viewers have watched around 770 million minutes in the first week of release.
Although the viewership dropped 45.5% from the first three days of streaming time, that’s around 1.413 billion minutes.
Eddie Murphy starred, the sequel to the 1988 ‘Coming to America’, is the talk of the town. Traditionally, the weekly streamed top 10 list is dominated by Netflix. But here, against all the odds, ‘Coming 2 America’ became the first Amazon Prime show to join the top 10 list.
Reportedly, “Coming 2 America” was the only non-Netflix program to make the Top 10 for the week of March 8-14.
According to the media measurement company, African American viewers accounted for 40% of the film’s audience. The reason behind an Afro-American dominated audience might be Eddie Murphy’s involvement or the movie’s fascinating theme.

Reportedly, viewership of the 10-episode Netflix drama-comedy has 722 million minutes. It came down 37.8 from the 1.161 billion minutes watched the previous week. Furthermore, “The Crown” again made it to the top 10 list after waiting for like 3 months. Since the week of Dec. 28-Jan. 3, we haven’t seen it on the top. The reason for this might be some events surrounding the Royal Family. Every little happening drives viewership.
