Undoubtedly, Samsung Galaxy S21 and iPhone 12 are trendsetters in the smartphone market. Both the handsets are leading the market in terms of their performance whether it is with Android or iOS.
Astonishingly, it looks like that both of these devices are left behind in the race by the Asus ROG Phone 5, which according to many tech reviewers, is considered one of the best gaming phones on the market.
THE HYPE ABOUT ASUS’S AUDIO SYSTEM. IS IT THAT GOOD?
The audio system coming with the device is considered revolutionary. How advanced can it be? Why it is being called one of the best-sounding smartphones in the world? Why iPhone 12 and Galaxy S21 just can’t compete with it? Let’s try to answer these questions.
A collaboration happened between Asus and Dirac. Asus is a Taiwan-based phone maker while Dirac is a world-renowned, Sweden-based audio technology company.
Reportedly, Dirac has created hyper-advanced audio technology designed for high-end automotive audio systems for the ROG Phone 5.
This audio technology is a work of art. Dirac installed MIMO (multiple-input and multiple-output) mixed-phase speaker co-optimization technology.
In the smartphone industry, it is believed to be an innovation that considers the smartphone’s dual speakers as a single, multi-speaker system in which the individual speakers work together to create the desired acoustical response.
Traditionally, flagship phones like Apple iPhone 12 and Samsung Galaxy S21 rely on individual use and maximization of multiple speakers. But, now due to this technology, the ROG Phone 5’s speakers will be working together to co-optimize the impulse response of the whole system, which is quite extraordinary.
This process is providing clarity of sound, improved bass and imaging, and at the same a more balanced tonality.
Adding to the mixed-phase speaker co-optimization technology, Dirac is also presenting the Asus ROG Phone 5 with its MIMO crosstalk cancellation technology.
This technology comes in handy, in overcoming the inevitable challenges which result in placing two smartphones’ speakers in close proximity to each other.
A Different Experience!
The new crosstalk cancellation technology will clearly distinguish between the right and left audio channels, as a result, which will separate the audio result and gives clarity to the sound. Ultimately, creating a more natural, multi-dimensional soundscape with accurate sound localization.
Sometimes, we like watching TV Shows and movies on our smartphones but the sound quality is compromised, well, now this will give us a good sound experience.
Bryan Chang, General Manager of Asus smartphone business unit was giving a statement regarding the collaboration.
He said, “ASUS and Dirac continue to push the boundaries of smartphone audio. With Dirac’s leading audio technologies integrated into the ROG Phone 5, consumers will experience games, music, and movies like never before.”
The word is spreading in the global market that Dirac’s audio technology has turned the tables around for Asus. Although, it doesn’t negate the fact that Apple iPhone 12 and Samsung Galaxy S21 also have world-class audio tech. But, that’s how trends are. The rule of the market is, coming with something extraordinary makes you stand out, doesn’t matter who is in competition.
