The much-awaited phone for all the gamers has been launched by ASUS. The ROG phone series includes Rog Phone 5, Rog Phone 5 Pro, and Rog Phone Ultimate. The other two special editions are having extra buttons and come with other effective features. But the most important thing is that the base of all the smartphones remains the same. Asus is likely to promote the collection of gaming experience that is correspondent with the Asus Rog Phone 5 series. Being the most pragmatic gaming smartphone it features the most powerful chipset available for Android devices.
Though the smartphone series is built for gamers, the smartphones are also compatible with other features. The regular features of the smartphone are one of the premier things to be noted. Considering the competition, this move by Asus will surely make a huge impact on the users. The ROG Phone 5 is available in Storm White and Phantom Black color variants. The ROG Phone 5 Pro comes in a Glossy Black color variant while the Ultimate edition will be available only in a Matte White finish.
Now beginning with the unboxing; The packaging of the Rog Phone looks luxurious and top class. The company has also added an Aero Case which not only makes it bewitching but also gives great thermal management. The box also contains a USB Type-C to Type-C cable. The box contains a Sim Injector Pin which is most important and you obviously don’t want to lose it.
Now coming to the look of the smartphone, it is a 6.78 inch super AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 800 nits and HDR+ support. The display also has a 111 percent DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and 24.3ms touch latency. It also features a high refresh rate display up in front and also comes up with LED lighting in the black.
The processor of the phone is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor which is accompanied by Adreno 660 GPU. It is given that this combination delivers 35 percent better performance compared to the last generation of ROG phone. It comes up with 12GB RAM on the regular model with up to 18GB RAM for the ultimate edition. While the ROG Phone 5 series maintains a similar design language as the previous generation, some key changes set the new devices apart from the rest.
Like the previous generation, the ROG Phone 5 series also comes with touch-sensitive shoulder buttons dubbed “Air Trigger.” While the regular variant features nine Air Trigger sensors, the Pro and the Ultimate editions come with two extra touch-sensitive sensors, called “Rear touch,” on the back. The smartphones also come with a Pixelworks I6 Display Processor. A chip that uses AI to improve picture quality, upscale SDR content to HDR, suppress visual noise, improve the accuracy of adaptive brightness, and enhance color, especially skin tones. The Pixelworks processor also enables Always-on HDR on the ROG Phone 5.
