The wife of the infamous Mexican drug trafficker Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán Loera was arrested Monday at a D.C.-place airport on drug trafficking rates, federal authorities reported.
Emma Coronel Aispuro, 31, was taken into custody at Virginia’s Dulles International Airport around Washington and faces expenses of conspiracy to distribute cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana for importation into the U.S., the Justice Office reported in a information release.

Coronel Aispuro, a twin U.S.-Mexican citizen, allegedly assisted Guzmán escape from a highest safety prison in Mexico in 2015. Following he was caught, she allegedly plotted an additional escape from the same facility two a long time later on, authorities reported.

A lawyer for Coronel Aispuro , Jeffrey Lichtman, verified that he is representing her but declined to remark on the fees.
