Charleston airport evacuated after suspicious package found

Passengers were evacuated from Charleston International Airport just before noon Wednesday. FlightAware has reported all inbound flights to Charleston are being held at their point of origin until 2 PM.

Elliot Summey, the CEO of the Charleston County Aviation Authority, said that the TSA has identified a package that’s potentially threatening. The bomb squad is on the scene.

In Michaux Parkway and International Boulevard, traffic is stopped. Police are not allowing cars to enter the airport property.
