Minecraft Cave and Clift updates are available for preview on Java and bedrock versions of the game. Though the full update will not be made available until 2021 the developer Mojong is releasing previews. These previews are available for players to view through various an experience. The cave and cliff updates will add new items and crafting materials. It’s not clear if new mobs will be made available with the update but it is possible. However, shortly after the first previews were made available a discrepancy appeared. Specifically, sliced but noticeable differences between the Java and bedrock versions of the game.
Minecraft Cave and Clift updates have been revealed through several betas and snapshot previews. Currently several new features have been revealed though apparently not all. Amongst the ones that are known are new weather affects such as snowier snow. Also, new wildlife is being added such as the Mountain goats for the cliffs. Some of the more recent snapshot previews have revealed special items such as the tinted glasses. Additionally, new materials and effects for those materials have been added. One of these materials appears to be copper blocks with their own unique weathering affects. Also, additional blocks with unique effects have been added to provide rhythmic change to the game. These are only a few of the new features previewed for the new update.

When this was first discovered it came as a bit of a surprise for most fans. The developers of the game once the concerns started appearing quickly posted on social media. They reassured the fans that the final update will be the same on both versions. However, now all previews and snap chats for the two versions will be different. They did not explain their reasoning for the split update previews. So, if a fan wants to see everything that’s coming in 2020, they need both bedrock and Java versions.
