Full time pandit and previous Team India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar advised the Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw to stop experimenting with his “impossible shots” during the ongoing IPL 2020. This former Team India cricketer and full time pandit Sanjay Manjrekar wants the talent Prithvi Shaw to stop taking unnecessary risks with his lofted shots in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Even though he, and the Delhi Capitals (DC) are in third place in the IPL 2020 points table, the franchise based in Delhi is still fighting for a place in the playoffs of this dynamic cricket contest. More pressure is being heaped on the misfires given out by Capital’s opener, Shaw, who has lately not stacked up to the expectations given to him this season of the IPL.
Prithvi has been dubbed as the next big thing in this gentlemen’s game. Shaw, in his time, took the tournaments by a landslide in his debut season for Delhi franchise in 2018. Now, in the present, Shaw has forged somewhat of an unstable and forgettable campaign with the Shreyas Lyer-led side in the IPL 2020. With Shaw’s cheap dismissal in the DC match going against Mumbai Indians, the previous cricketer Manjrekar has advised now, for him to not take such “impossible shorts.”
This Sunday, he took to Twitter. The Indian commentator insisted Shaw should keep a former Indian opener Virender Sehwag as his ongoing role model. Below is the tweet he wrote:
Word for word, the tweet read: “Dear Prithvi Shaw, try & not attempt impossible shots, simply because they are impossible to pull off. Keep Virender Sehwag as your role model, see how he only stuck to shots he had the ability/confidence to pull off.”
Concerning Shaw’s disaster against the Mumbai Indians, the DC opener was dismissed for a low score. The Delhi giants collapsed, only just managing to get a mediocre score by the end of the game.
