Among Us the top science-fiction social deduction game of 2020 has recently pushed through emergency updates. the need for these updates came due to a security breach which affected approximately 5 million players. Specifically, numerous players had received threatening messages on their game chat boards. The messages demanded that the players subscribe to a specific YouTube channel and/or vote for specific politicians. One of the reasons Among Us was the target for this spam attack is its popularity. Millions of players have come to enjoy the unique version science fiction height and seek gameplay.

The objective of the game is to be the last player alive. gameplay is in a multiplayer set where up to nine players participate. The majority of the crew are supposed to be there however at least one member is an imposter. The crewmates job is to repair damage sabotaged to the ship and identify the imposter. The imposter on the other hand is trying to sabotage the ship and slowly kill off the crew. The imposter is chosen at random game begins which means that there’s no way to know for certain the imposter. Group discussions are held ever a crew member is found dead to try and determine who the imposter is. The imposter wins with all the crew are dead or the sabotage is successful. The crew men when they identify and jettison the imposter. For at the level of difficulty there can be multiple imposters who are not aware of each other.
The Among Us development staff was highly apologetic for allowing this cyber-attack to occur. Immediately after it became obvious what is happening, they issued instructions recommending that players only have private games. of course, the first thing they became aware of that was when numerous players contacted them about the issue. No doubt they were also galvanized to put a solution place when other players began tweeting about the situation. After they issue instructions were released the development team quickly updated all servers with new security software. While not completely effective the update was successful enough to the primary weaknesses in the system. This led to a second wave of updates that have reinforced the security of Among Us message boards. Unfortunately, there are still some minor bugs from the updates causing issues. The development team is working swiftly to fix them and get the game back up to full working order.

Specifically, the fact that its programming is several years out of date in the development team has been upgrading it. They had originally intended to release a second game with up-to-date specifications and countermeasures. However, in a bid to capitalize on the current popularity and they instead when with a difficult option. That is, to undergo a long and difficult update of the existing game. One of those updates included improvements to the message board which probably also left a breach secure. Fortunately, among us is now secure from similar attacks and is being enjoyed by players around the world.
