The first COVID – 19 exposure notification system launches throughout the state of Colorado. Colorado one of the states of the US earlier this week began using this system. The state is doing this in partnership with Apple and Google. It’s more than likely that the Colorado Department of health and environment agreed to be the first real-world test. Specifically, Colorado is the first state to use this system jointly created by Apple and Google. No doubt, that both tech companies and health organizations are hoping for successful result. Of course, there are several factors that will determine whether or not those results are favorable.
The COVID – 19 exposure notification system as it is described doesn’t actually detect the coronavirus. what it actually does is alert the user when they have come into proximity of a person who tested positive. More precisely, application which is compatible with both iPhone and android phones uses a Bluetooth signal to communicate with other applications. If the program connects with a phone also used the program it checks for certain information. Specifically, the program will look confirmation of the new phone’s owner having tested positive for the coronavirus. If the result is a positive the first phone will notify its user. Basically, the act tells the user if they have come into close proximity to another user who tested positive.
The state of Colorado and specifically the Colorado Department of Health environment have stated that the app is completely voluntary. That being said they hope that people will download the free application to make smart health. Specifically, the state hopes that this will allow its residents to avoid potentially infecting their families. That is if they come into contact with some who test positive for the virus. It’s also important to note that uploading information to the is also voluntary. Additionally, the application will automatically remove positive notification 14 days after the upload. that being said, this COVID – 19 exposure notification system may help reduce the number of cases in the state. If it proves successful Colorado may not be long before the application is more widely available.
