The Last Kingdom is a hit Brtish historical series, a fictional story based on the novel The Saxon Stories. It has been the leading British show from the release of season 1. The first season aired in 2015 and gained a massive fan-following for its mind-blowing plot and action. The creators continued the legacy with season 2 and 3. The vast number of audience instantly liked the show. Season 2 and 3 were released in 2017 and 2019 respectively. The craze for the show raised eventually. Season 4 came out on 26th April 2020, and the play stood in top 10 in Netflix. The show is rated 8.4/10 by IMDb.
Plot: The Last Kingdom Season 4
The Danes invade England and other regions and start his rule under Vikings. He captures Uhtred, the successor of Saxon and raises him as his own. Uhtred and Brida, a Saxon girl, are made his slaves. Danes kill Uhtred’s family sparing his uncle and step-mother Uhtred seeks revenge for his father’s death and is planning to regain Bebbanburg from his uncle who is planning to kill Uhtred for keeping it for himself. Now, Uhtred had to forcibly to choose between his ancestors and the people with whom he grew up. Throughout the series, Uhtred’s loyalty had put into a test. The complicated relationship between Alfred and Uhtred is a considerable part of the series.
Cast [New Cast]: The Last Kingdom Season 4
The leading casts like Uhtred, Earl Ragnar and others will be playing the same role. Alfred died in the previous season. As the audience expected, there were a few new characters introduced in season 4. Of them, most importantly, Uhtred’s children were taught. It was an honest portrayal of the original casts. Young Uhtred (Finn Elliot) and Stiorra (Ruby Hartley) were quality additions to the story of the series where they challenge their father in many ways. Stefanie Martini and Jamie Blackley are siblings who are paving their way back to live a dignified life. The new introductions have added colour to the series and have justified the story.
Connecting timelines: The Last Kingdom Season 4
The audience thought that Season 3 would be the end of the series. But season 4 came with some new twists and characters and increased the curiosity among the audience. In season 4 Uhtred decides to return to Bebbanburg as his birthright but comes across some mystical consequences and is stuck amidst Danes. There is a massive fight sequence in the initial part of the series with justifying scenes and meaningful actions. But, at the end of the series, the show goes weakening with the story. It feels that the settings are going for no reason. However, the entire series is a feast for the audience. IT is available on Netflix and BBC, watch it if you haven’t.
