Most houses have two suites of residents- one living and the other, deceased. The two generally never interact with one another. Now, what happens if the usual scenario is no more? It is then that chaos ensues. The American supernatural, horror and drama, The Haunting of Hill House, is a web television series based on the novel of the same name. The work of fiction, written by Shirley Jackson, published in 1959. Mike Flanagan is the creator and director of the series and Amblin Television and Paramount Television jointly serve as producers. Viewers can watch on Netflix. The second part of the series, The Haunting of Bly Manor, acts as the prequel to season 1.

Release Date: The Haunting of Hill House Season 2

The Haunting of Hill House premiered on October 12, 2018. Netflix confirmed the renewal of the series for a season 2 on February 21, 2019. The Haunting of Bly House was predetermined to release precisely two years after season 1. The recording for the show was completed in its entirety before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the work. As such, even the post-production did not suffer as severely as feared to be. Part 2 of the series will release, as scheduled, on October 9, 2020, just before the arrival of Halloween.

Cast: The Haunting of Hill House Season 2

The Haunting of Bly Manor will feature many cast members from The Haunting of Hill House but in different roles. Victoria Pedretti will be in the lead role in The Haunting of Bly Manor as the tutor, Dani Clayton. She had initially played the character of Eleanor ‘Nell’ Crain Vance in The Haunting of Hill House. The actors who starred the Crain family in season 1 will also return. Consequently, the cast also includes actors like T’Nia MillerCatherine Parker and Henry Thomas. We may see the reappearance of Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Kate Siegel as well.

Plot: The Haunting of Hill House Season 2

The Haunting of Bly Manor does not prolong nor connect the story of the Crain family. It follows the narrative of Henry James’ novel, The Turn of the Screw. The story proceeds to show Dani Clayton, the American nanny, work as a concierge to two orphaned twins of Henry Wingrave. The twins are named Miles and Flora. To Dani’s horror, she starts seeing the apparitions of Miss Jessel, the previous governess and Peter Quint, who was Jessel’s lover.

Storyline: The Haunting of Hill House Season 1

The story starts with the relocation of the Crain family into Hill House in the summer of 1992. The purpose of this move was to renovate the house for sale and allow Olivia, the lady of the family, design their new home. However, they had to remain there longer than expected due to unanticipated repairs. It is then that the family begin to experience paranormal activity, causing them to escape from the terrifying place. Nevertheless, the Crain siblings return to the house twenty-six years later, along with their father. They finally decide to confront the horrors of the past.
