About “Annika”
Is ‘annika’ Renewed for Season 2?
Masterpiece PBS announced in August that it would develop a second season of Annika in collaboration with Alibi in the United Kingdom and All3Media International.
In the detective drama set in Glasgow, Walker plays the chief of the Marine Homicide Unit. She and her crew are responsible for investigating the numerous killings that occur on Scotland’s waterways. Annika frequently breaks the fourth wall to share her thoughts on the crimes at hand, literature, and raising her temperamental adolescent daughter Morgan (Silvie Furneaux).
“We are all looking forward to combatting crime on land and sea with the MHU for a second season, and Annika will have to confront secrets closer to home. “This is going to be a rough ride!” Walker stated in a statement upon the announcement of the renewal.
In addition to Walker, returning cast members include Jamie Sives as DS Michael McAndrews, Katie Leung (Harry Potter) as DC Blair Ferguson, and Ukweli Roach as DS Tyrone Clarke. It is unclear whether Paul McGann will reprise his role as Dr. Jake Strathearn, Morgan’s therapist and a prospective love interest for Annika.
