In the Tim Burton–directed series (co-created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar), teen Jenna Ortega plays the title role of Wednesday Thee Addams, who must solve a murder mystery involving her new high school, her parents, and some of her friends.
The eight episodes of Wednesday’s first season resolve some major mysteries, but they also leave open a number of plotlines and the ultimate destinies of several characters. If the show is renewed for a second season, there will also be plenty of new mysteries to explore.
You can believe that there were a lot of loose strings left flapping in the wind once we brought it up. Despite her fondness for misery, Wednesday didn’t appear to enjoy the amount of anguish she experienced when she found out her boyfriend was the monster terrorizing Nevermore. Teacher favorite Ms. Thornhill turned out to be a nasty northerner with a grudge towards the social outcasts, doubling down on the double dose of betrayal he had already received.
We are skeptical that Tyler will remain her “pet,” but we are confident that he escaped and will return to Wednesday’s life. As a friend, lover, or opponent, though, is still up in the air, but Tyler actor Hunter Doohan certainly has his opinions on the character’s eventual fate.
While speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Doohan expressed confidence that his troublesome friend Tyler had evaded capture by authorities.
“In the end, I believe he was able to get away. I was thrilled to read that on the page. In other words, I was saying, “Come on, don’t be dead, don’t be dead.” “… he made the following statement.
His comment on his season one arc provides some insight into whether we will see Tyler’s good or bad side in season two.
“Doohan speculated that Miss Thornhill may have been exerting influence over the man. When it came time to put their strategy into action, he had to go and influence Wednesday, and I think he did a fantastic job of that.”
If he was actually being manipulated, then perhaps he can find atonement if he can break free of Ms. Thornhill’s influence. However, there may be additional enemies to watch out for.
The Morning Songs, a cult-like organization led by Bianca’s siren mother, were mentioned several times during the series, creating an air of foreboding.
In order to bolster their convincing argument, Bianca’s mother pressured her into joining them. They have the potential to become the show’s primary antagonist in Season 2. Keep an eye out.
The identity of the mysterious texter is something that needs to be established. Wednesday receives a cryptic, threatening text message alongside creepy photos of herself shortly after Xavier gives her a new phone as a gift.
Even though Wednesday has no idea who sent the message, the fact that it poses a genuine threat will surely set her heart ablaze with excitement. It’s also the kind of thing that could get the gears turning on a Season 2 plot.
