See Spot Run is an American comedy film that was released in 2001 and tells the story of a mailman who takes in a stray bullmastiff and names him Spot, only to find out later that Spot is actually a trained FBI dog that has escaped from a witness protection program and is being targeted for attacking a crime boss.
See Spot Run Plot
The FBI employs Agent 11, a bullmastiff, in their fight against criminals; he works alongside his owner, Murdoch, in the city of Seattle. As they continue their pursuit of Sonny Talia, the Mafia boss, Agent 11 launches an assault on him and removes one of his testicles.
Sonny is transported to the hospital to undergo the surgical procedure necessary to replace it. In order to exact his revenge, he orders Gino and Arliss, two of his bodyguards, to eliminate Agent 11. Agent 11 has been relocated to a secure training facility in Alaska for her own safety.
After Agent 11 manages to elude capture, he eventually crosses paths with Gordon Smith, a mailman. In spite of his aversion to canines, Gordon has offered to watch over James McGuire, the minor son of his next-door neighbor Stephanie.
The search for Agent 11, who James refers to as “Spot,” has proceeded with Gino and Arliss. Because Murdoch warned Agent 11 not to play when he was a puppy, he first does not want to catch balls or Frisbees, but later he starts doing so with Gordon and James as a normal dog would.
Later on, Gino and Arliss make an attempt to kill him while he is with Gordon and James at a pet store, but he is able to avoid their attack by using his wits.
When the FBI learns that Spot is currently residing with Gordon, they decide to take him back. He is able to get away and eventually locates Gordon and James again. Sonny makes his comeback and makes an effort to assassinate him, but he is ultimately foiled, captured, and sent to jail.
The agents from the FBI make several attempts to retrieve Spot, but in the end, they decide to give him the freedom to choose with whom he wants to share his life.
He goes with Gordon and James, but not before giving Murdoch one last lick on the cheek. James manages to persuade Stephanie that Gordon is a decent person, and the two of them end up becoming together after Stephanie has returned and is very unhappy with Gordon for what had happened.
One of the movie’s final scenes depicts Sonny being incarcerated with his testicles replaced by metal balls that constantly clack together.
Sonny’s other testicle had also been ripped off by Spot earlier in the movie. One of the other inmates calls him “Music Man,” Then, in a louder voice, he threatens, “I’m going to catch you in the yard. We are going to settle this between the sexes!”
