The Tale of Purple Hearts and Its Outline
Luke Morrow and Cassie Salazar are polar opposites of one another in almost every way. Cassie is an intellectual woman who lives in Austin, Texas. She is pursuing a career as a singer-songwriter, and in order to support herself while she is doing so, she works evenings at a bar.
Luke, a new recruit in the Army who is getting ready to report for duty, finds comfort in the regimentation and hierarchy that characterizes the military. But a chance encounter in Cassie’s pub brings about significant change in both of their lives. Cassie has been buried under an overwhelming amount of medical debt ever since she was diagnosed with diabetes.
She strikes a deal with Frankie, an old friend of hers who has recently joined the military, in which she agrees to wed him in exchange for better health insurance and the chance to share the increased salary that comes with having a “family.” Luke, an attractive but aggressive friend, offers to marry Cassie in place of Frankie when Frankie’s proposal is turned down.
She is completely oblivious to the fact that he has his own compelling reasons for wanting to be married. In this touching love story, Cassie and Luke are forced to put aside their differences in order to give the impression that they are getting married unless, of course, that is exactly what happens.
Do the Events Depicted in Purple Hearts Take Place in a Book?
The Netflix original series Purple Hearts is not based on any actual events but rather on the novel of the same name by Tess Wakefield. Comparisons to the novels of Nicholas Sparks and Jojo Moyes have been made about this book.
The film’s summary is word-for-word with the book’s, indicating fidelity to the original work. Given that Cassie is a performing artist, Grammy-nominated musician Justin Tranter was recruited to pen and produce a set of new songs just for the film.
Purple Hearts: is the Teaser Out Yet?
As a teaser for the film’s upcoming premiere, Hollywood records released the song “Come Back Home” on July 12, 2022. The film shot straight to the top of Netflix’s daily popularity chart for movies the day following its debut.
Alloy Entertainment originally acquired the film’s rights in the year 2020. It was revealed in November 2020 that Sofia Carson would play Cassie and contribute to the film’s soundtrack as an executive producer and singer.
Charles Melton was the first choice to play Luke, Cassie’s convenient spouse. The news that Netflix had purchased the film’s distribution rights from Alloy entertainment came in August of 2021. As of the same month, it was said that Nicholas Galitzine would be taking over for Melton as Luke. Soon after, production got underway in the San Diego and Riverside areas.
Purple Hearts Release Date
According to collider Launching on Netflix on July 29 is the new season of Purple Hearts. This month has been a busy one for the streaming service, with hits like “The Gray Man” and “Persuasion” drawing in many viewers.
Purple Hearts is the kind of romantic drama that fills the void left by the release of more serious material like Top Gun: Maverick, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Jurassic World: Dominion.
Is It Likely That We’ll See “Purple Hearts 2?”
Netflix has not confirmed any intentions for a second season as of yet. However, the film has become an enormous success on Netflix, and it has remained in the service’s Top 10 programs ever since its debut on July 29.
One Twitter user expressed the opinion that a sequel to Purple Hearts was “not a demand but a need.” In the words of another, “Just give me Purple Hearts sequel and I won’t ask for anything else really.” Same!
